Reminds me of Souness's brilliant take on Jack "holding onto the ball for too long… not seeing the picture early enough". If he was more alert on the pitch, he wouldn't have to hold on to the ball for too long, Nasri and Silva had the perfect balance, both players knew when to hold on and when to release the ball. It all comes down to the timing and Jack never perfected thatThose kicking's he got in the early part of his career at Villa coming back to haunt him, and he doesn't help all the punishment he soaks up for us when he plays for us. I really think he struggles with keeping himself fit and pain free.

Reading this endless thread....Jack can't score a goal because..Excellent post and summary. I did wonder about his mentality when he seemed to have a 2 week piss up after the treble. I still hope he can come good again but Savinho has started to bring back Leroy memories on that left wing
His mentally unable after being too pissed too often
His house got robbed and he's still dealing with that
He had a baby and had to travel to London hospital for the birth
He's been fouled too much and it's taking it's toll
He loses confidence when criticized and needs love for motivation
Kickings he got at Villa are catching up
And now.....He gave too much of himself during the treble and has been burnt out ever since.
In my mind all this daft speculation is pointless, Jack has been shit for the last two and a half years and needs to move on... he just doesn't fit in our team, he's a player that doesn't suit Pep's style of football and clearly isn't putting in the effort at training (Pep's words).I'm starting to wonder if he gave so much of himself - physically and mentally - during the run to the treble that he just deflated in the aftermath and has been a bit burnt out ever since.
I have no idea why we paid all that money for him. But at the end of the day, I guess that is not his fault.
