Any montage of de Bruyne will also include countless examples of players squandering chance after chance after chance. The fact that Cherki has 9 goals but only 10 assists in 36 games should be a concern. That assist number should already be much higher, but that's down to the quality of those around him.

This is what Pep said in his presser yesterday. Wants him in/ near the box. Let Reindeers do the Gundo ghosting - says Pep. Agree.
 
This week he gave an interview to the French channel L'Equipe, when asked who the coach's favorite is, he answered without hesitation Bernardo, he has only been there for a few months and he has already understood how things work... he just has to wait unfortunately for him!

 
Honestly, I understand Pep benching him (and to a degree Foden and Reijnders) in big games due to the physicality and because Cherki didnt look great earlier on in the big games.

But he needs to get over it, he and Doku are our best creators and we need them both on as much as fucking possible to win the fucking game.

Play Nico G or other defensive midfielders to balance it out.
 
He was fuming with Doku when he put him in down the right, only to see him try and beat his man 10 yards from goal

Shocked he doesnt play more regularly

He must be very frustrated sat on the sidelines watching players like Savinho on the pitch.

Most of our players can't lace his boots.

Time for Pep to just be proactive, stop shitting his knickers that it might mean losing the ball now and again and let this lad start more games and create for us.

Yes he's young but he's by far our best creative force by some distance and he's sat on the bench watching players who couldn't pass wind.

In a team where we so often are moaning about players refusing to play forward passes i completely understand the desire to love Cherki who is the polar opposite but his insistence on trying to play a forward pass every single time is as much of a problem.

He too often tries to force things that simply aren't on, will repeatedly just stab the ball forward in the vague direction of a player who has no real hope of controlling it when there is no clear ball on. He's got a lot of talent and will be immense for us but he is still very raw and it's very clear why he's currently been reduced to a bit part role. won't get the nod in big games until his workrate ups considerably and he develops the ability to play at different tempos.
 
Time to build a team around him in the summer. He’s a 10 simple as that no more out wide or doing doggies up and down the flank.
 
Feel really sorry for the lad, he’s far too exciting & entertaining for Pep! Ever since Pep criticised his rabona cross against Sunderland he’s looked the shadow of the player he was. Sadly players can’t express themselves under this manager.
