Exactly......a combination of not having experienced that type of pace, and not being 100% 'match' fit yet.Good that they 2 different players. Cherki just couldn’t cope with the pace. Nothing wrong with subbing him.
Was the right move imo, he didn’t play well at all which is fine given he’s been in the league for 5 minutes. I’m not his biggest fan but Sav deserved a run out after his game against DortmundFelt unfair that he got hooked after 55mins.
When Savio stinks the gaff out he gets 85 mins to waste chances.

I knew in the first half he was going to get hooked, he gave away possession right infront of pep, one thing he doesn't stand for is losing possession needlessly, cherki is a fantastic player but he needs to know when to be fancy and when to play safe, he'll learn and when he does we will have a worldie on our hands, as for the stick savinho gets again he's young and gave us energy on the right and played well when he came on
Not a great showing, tried to do too much on the ball when he didn't have the space and time to do so. Felt like Pep had enough when he could have layed off the ball around the 55 min but chose to shoot into a wall.
No doubt the talent's there, he'll learn.

He's seen the level now and needs to marry the work rate with his undoubted skill, then we will have some player
He’s always a threat and drew players towards him every time he got the ball. Liverpool were clearly worried about him. Didn’t have a bad game at all.was not bad tbf, was just ok, didn't have much looks to create, will learn from it

Cherki is being looked after and Pep is making sure he doesn't burn out after his injury.
Nothing wrong with him only playing 50 odd minutes here and there, I like the fact we're thinking of the long game and making sure players are fit for the 2nd half of the season.
He's got so much talent and is a pep player absolutely.

In this case, Cherki wasn't having a great game.
Last week he was outstanding.
He's dynamite, but had a relatively poor game. It happens, and I don't think it teaches us anything.
What it will teach him is that if he doesn't perform, someone will replace him. That's exactly how we want things to be. If Bobb has an off-game, Cherki will replace him. Same for Savinho and Doku.

Yes, with Cherki playing on the wing (inside forward) he leaves the space out wide for Nunes to exploit, whilst also making up the numbers in midfield when needed. As soon as Savi comes on that space out wide for Nunes is blocked.We were better as a team with him than when Savinho came on. We lost some control.
I’m sure he was hooked early because he didn’t use the overlap and went for goal instead. He came off straight after it when there was a break in play. Felt like a real power move (which I’m not against) from Pep.
Was good to see that he wasn’t out of place yesterday, though, despite not being phenomenal. Always a danger and not wholly reliant on the odd moment magic to make an impact on games.

I’m trying to think how many times Cherki will have played a game of that intensity and speed before in his career.
He’s played PSG a few times, obviously, but he wasn’t playing in a Lyon team who’ll have gone toe-to-toe with them, playing at the same or higher soeeed and intensity as them.
He played for France against Spain in a 5-4 game, but he came on as a sub in the second half so he’ll have been fresher than those who’d been on all game.
So Sunday might have been the first game he’s played at that level of intensity and speed in his career. It will be a good lesson for him.
