It's so good for our club to have phenomenal young players like Cherki showcased on the biggest stages.

The global audience for the game would have been astronomical, and judging by the social media response I've seen Cherki has acquired millions of new fans.

It's onwards and upwards into the stratosphere for this incredible talent!

Still find it bewildering how much room opponents afford him; It’s not as if there isn’t enough tape to study. In fairness, though, he’s increasingly drifting miles away from actual play, often to the other side of the park, so suddenly he’s there: ‘as if by magic’.

He is always looking for space and drifting. Unless you go man to man, which teams don't seem to do aggressively anymore, then he's going to find space.

I can't remember the last time I've seen a player under the instructions to literally just follow a player around. Managers these days are hell bent on looking as clever as possible with tactics rather than just telling a player to stick to another like glue.

More Zidane than Messi for me, although Zidane was rather big compared to those two.

Messi was very quick and explosive over short distances and ridiculously good at scoring goals. Cherki is more Zidane-esqe: technical brilliance combined with vision and big goals.

Partly, but it’s their mannerisms and attitude as well. Cherki has the added bonus of learning stuff from Pep, so he can be anything he wants to be.

Definitely glad we got Cherki but I still think Wirtz under Pep would have been amazing.

It’s not one or the other either I would play both in my starting 11. Teams wouldn’t be able to cope

I have been thinking that too. I have watched him and at first I thought about the things he doesn't do e.g., defending but now l am watching Cherki and there is stuff happening that is crazy, and I have to watch it on TV again to see what he did.
