He spent large parts of the season on the bench and didn't kick off, didn't moan or whinge just got his head down and looked to adapt to how Pep wanted us to play. He was then instrumental in us hitting form, reeling Arsenal in and finally looking more balanced. That long break before the Everton game, after the FA Cup semi final saw a lot of our players lose form sadly - Cherki being one of them. I don't think he looked the same after that break.15 year olds think the game henges on goals and assists. The mature view is that it takes teamwork to win titles. All of my criticism here is based on his ability to play with the team. “He’s a maverick” is a nice way of saying he’s not a team player and doesn’t listen to the manager.
I’ve said my piece. Time will tell. And I do hope he comes good and settles in.
He's still young with plenty of room for improvement but to highlight one missed pass and suggest that means he's not a team player is ridiculous. He got 12 assists this season...that suggests he's looking to find a team mate when he can.
