There were a few times against Fulham that I noticed that he wasn't making those runs into the box when we were attacking too often (despite being told 1000x that's precisely what he does). He did on occasion, but so does whoever else we have there (although it's less noticed by us when they do it). But other players did make those runs, and Aguero would hang back. Which is precisely what happens when whoever plays there has played there.

It's clear that tactically Aguero and Jesus have had to make big shifts to their games this season. As I've been parroting for a while to an empty void, Jesus has obviously changed his game and never normally plays as deep as he has done this season. Aguero has had to make the same shift in playing style. Aguero is operating deeper than he has ever done at City and he's having to spend more time as a decoy than an actual target.

It's going to be VERY difficult I think for Aguero to get up to full speed anytime soon. Fitness issues and lack of sharpness are one thing, but on top of that he's having to adjust to a completely new way of playing. He's become increasingly poacher like since 18/19, so now having to do a complete 180 will take some effort.

I still think Aguero's got enough quality to work in this new system of ours, but for that to happen it's going to be really important that he gets his fitness back up to the level it needs to be. That's what is going to get him the chance to stick around into next season where the hard work can pay off. So if I were Pep I wouldn't be rushing to get him back into the team before he's physically ready. If we're desperate for a goal he's always going to be available off of the bench.

I've always listened to you mate.

A double edged sword to a large degree.

He needs minutes to get back but we cant afford to have a passenger while he gets them, especially not at this stage of the season.

I suspect a mountain is set to be made of this molehill.

Maybe so, but every player has moments where they're ignored despite being obviously available. We are playing deliberately slower than we've ever done before since Aguero got injured, so passes that might have seemed sensible prior to his injury are now too risky.

Or maybe they really were being dicks to him, I hope not but I can't exactly say definitively in good faith one way or another.
Yeah it’s most likely nothing, as these things are very common in the game.

Did he say it as he was walking off the pitch or something? Either way these frustrations are voiced all the time in the changing room.

Serg has always needed a run of 3-4 games after injury to get back up to speed, he just doesn't slot in and start where he left off like others do.

unfortunately for Sergio though we’re at the business end of the season so I don’t think he will get the run he needs as we’re currently better without him in the first 11.

Hopefully we can wrap the league up ASAP, best bet would be then to play him in all the remaining league games in a bid to be raring to go as we get further in to the CL and FA cup (hopefully).

Can't see Sergio starting many of the remaining games , we play with a false nine for most games and Jesus is the more energetic for our pressing game , and it always takes Sergio half a dozen games to get going after a long lay off. It will be difficult to start him with some important games on the horizon , will be a shame for his last season to just fade away as a bit part player. He will probably score a hat trick agaisnt Everton now ive said that :)

Last night was close, if not THE, best eleven. Legend though he is, he does not feature in that, currently. Whether he can get back to feature in the best eleven, or not, is something we probably all hope but is probably unrealistic.
