A manager can be good at one point and shite at another. Fail to see what’s controversial about that.
Liverpool finished eighth that season. We finished 4th, knocked rags into 5th on GD if I recall this was one of the games that didnt take place on the day at OT due to training device being left in stadium. As we played at specified time and had qualified for CL, I believe many fans didnt bother with the rearranged game. Not sure where Liverpool finished (but we beat them on pens in LC Final) but Leicester were champs and Ihenacho had looked promising for us.
Great piece of knowledge !Great first season. He is the only non British/European to ever win the league. Which is an achievement in itself. It was the next two seasons that formed my opinion of him, and was glad when he left.
They still gave Tony Pulis the manager of the year awardGreat piece of knowledge !
Will be asking all mates who support our rivals, this question...
Sounds like the makings of a good death metal band.Remember a spell on here when posts calling him a corpse were being brought down left right and centre.
One post called him a ‘stoned **** corpse’ which did make chuckle. Lasted about three minutes before it was removed.
In fairness to Tony Club Shop, he was a visionary, ahead of the game, with the long throw tactic...They still gave Tony Pulis the manager of the year award
Those games were the season after, when Pep was manager. Stones and Bravo were both signed in the summer of 2016.Leicester away was worse, the Liverpool game was the odd mistake and Sagna off the pace, the Leicester opening was a whole team incompetent performance, staring Stones and Bravo.
The Foxes were struggling and Vardy hadn't cored for 10, games, 3-0 down after 20 mins and Vardy would complete a hattrick with a Stones assist before City started playing in the last 10 minutes.
The Everton away 4-0 City weren't that bad and dominated until Everton's first attempt which Bravo waved in, and a decent 'keeper may have saved 3 of them. All the Bravo fans wouldn't admit it, but the way he turned his head away from the ball hitting him for the 3-0 showed he was just on a pension boost and had to be replaced.
That is the point, we did have a worse defensive first half since the OP's game, but not popular to point out as it was under JG.Those games were the season after, when Pep was manager. Stones and Bravo were both signed in the summer of 2016.
Ok.That is the point, we did have a worse defensive first half since the OP's game, but not popular to point out as it was under JG.
Hells teeth I remember that game very clearly. It was a shower, and the fact we managed to score was amazing. I wouldn't mind but the Dips weren't that good then- think it was just the start of the Klopp era.Probably one of the worst first halves defensively I've seen in a decade.
It's not been too bad since then.
Fair enough. I was replying to him “not having a clue “ etc. I’m currently on train back from Newcastle so tad miffed.Great first season. He is the only non British/European manager to ever win the league. Which is an achievement in itself. It was the next two seasons that formed my opinion of him, and was glad when he left.
Can’t we just say non European?!?Great first season. He is the only non British/European manager to ever win the league. Which is an achievement in itself. It was the next two seasons that formed my opinion of him, and was glad when he left.
Another painful memory,on a not very good sat night...Remarkable that we made it to UCL Semi that season before meekly bowing out to Real
