11 | Jeremy Doku - 2025/26

Spurs were doubling him on the wing. He was constantly in a one-versus-two situation. I don't rate Doku highly - but given the way Spurs were defending he wasn't going to make much of an impact.
 
Wish Pep would give him a run on the right wing instead of left. He’s fantastic at beating his man down the outside but then won’t really use his left foot. So why not let him beat his man on his favoured side to then put a better final ball in?

Even the assist to Nunes against Villa last season was the outside of his right foot!
 
This may be a radical idea, and maybe we already tried it (Feel free to tell me if we have) but have we considered putting Doku on the right if Savinho goes, and then going and signing a LW instead?
 
I'd like to see he or Marmoush play more inverted in a free role.

Sticking them out wide makes them so predictable, let a fullback hold the width.

For all the talk of Doku "making things happen", I have yet to see it consistently against anyone other than teams naive enough to have a go at us when they don't have the technical ability to do so or games we're already winning handsomely. I'd give him a pass if he actually works off the ball in and out of possession, but he doesn't even do that.

Doku and Savinho have plenty of technical ability, but the tactics going forward just haven't suited them or anyone who has played as a winger for us since the treble season. They get no support from overlapping fullbacks and the midfielders who do come wide to help just drag another body to add to the 2 defenders already marking them.

Doku in a free role would be sacrilege. He doesn't have the coordination or footballing intelligence to play a free role. Marmoush? Maybe, but I'd be dubious.

Doku will be gone no later than next season.
 
Rotate him and Marmoush as inverted LW.

Doku can do it, he looked good in that role in the CWC.

RAN or O Reilly can hold the width on the left and whip crosses in.
 
Absolutely useless.

Used to get me on the edge of my seat, now I expect it to end in absolutely fuck all when he gets it.

He ran the ball out of play today. Again. After doing the same against Spurs last week.

He is in the bottom 3 worst players in the squad with Gundogan and Bernardo, can someone come in with a late bid for him tonight please.
 
He’s had an awful start to the season. The argument about him last season we re his end product. We aren’t even seeing his poor end product this season because he’s completely anonymous. We were hoping for improvement, if anything he’s gone backwards.
