11 | Jeremy Doku - 2025/26

Hes stockier and more bulked up. And yes when you work on your technique instead of your speed/endurance, then you become better in your technique and worse in your speed/endurance. Its not exactly rocket science.
He just suffers from muscle problems, I think in his quads and hamstrings which has been well documented, that’s why you never see him sprint long distances at the same pace he goes over 5-10 yards.

We play now with more space to run into so it’s just more obvious than when we pushed teams right up the pitch and had him high and wide on the left.

Feels like this is kind of the standard for this forum. Don't mean to be a tool, but objectively speaking there is a lot more in depth analysis and debate at the redcafe forum over United's players. I wonder why is that the case since the forum format is pretty similar. The only big difference is length of pages, maybe that has something to do with it.
Well they can't exactly just comment "he's ace" about any of their players, can they?

The emergence of Nico as a marauding fullback too probably. The more Nico runs the less Doku runs it seems to me.

He hasn’t got the footballing intelligence, stamina, ability or awareness to play a free role. He just doesn’t work hard enough.

I agree that he is wasted on the left though because he can beat his man whenever he wants to. It’s the bit after that that is concerning for me. He has improved this season but for me that wasn’t hard for him to do at all.

I hope he proves me wrong but I don’t think he’s anywhere near good enough looking at his overall game to have any sort of longevity at a club that wants to challenge for titles.
Really??? Gets kicked all over, he's as strong as an ox, creates mayhem, fantastic player

I would still play him centrally. His close control is extremely good so I'd play him as a 2nd striker and encourage him to develop into that free role.

We have loads of options out wide anyway. We could have winger type players like Savinho, Bobb, AitNouri, Nunes or we could have more AM type players out there like Foden, Cherki, Reijnders, Lewis.

I just think Doku is very unique so I'd experiment with him if I was Pep. Maybe it'd be awful but maybe it'd be amazing.

(Imagine a pair of CBs having to deal with both Haaland and Doku over and over for 90+ minutes)

If you wanna use analysis then by most metrics Doku is one of the most creative wingers in the world.

So why complain about him?

I've got eyes, I see what the lad is capable of so that's what I comment on. I don't need to study pass completion % and xg to try and convince myself or anyone else I'm some master tactician because I'm not.

That's all the rag mongs are trying to do, I'd wager 99.9% are absolutely clueless, but if that's your bag, enjoy.
