Cult hero this lad. By no means one of the best in the squad, but his attitude and application to the cause is as good as anyone’s. And he’s the lowest paid player in the squad outside the lads still in the EDS.

Top lad! Would love to see him rewarded with a double-his-money new contract! (which would still only be about £24k a week… only haha!)

Noticeable on Sunday, especially in the first half, that we sometimes had three players (Zinchenko, de Bruyne, Grealish) all stood on the left touchline. Forced Newcastle to keep a narrow shape and exposed their right back.

Only danger with that is that when they receive an overhit pass, they shouldn’t always try to keep it in play. Better to concede a throw in than lose the ball by knocking it infield and having three players out of the game.

It's so bizarre that we've spent just over £200m on full-backs since Pep arrived, and yet if we were in the Champions League final against Real Madrid I'd want the skinny midfielder who cost us barely anything and was only supposed to make a quick profit for the CFG starting at left-back.
