Should do our best to keep him, players of that ability and left footed are hard to come by, his treatment by the ‘genius’ hasn’t helped matters though.

Should have played more last season think if he goes it may have been different if he had been in the team a bit more, stones and Dias were certainly the best pairing but having finally got 3 decent centre halves it would be a blow to lose one of them.

I'm a huge fan of consistency and a settled back four,so while i see your point,its a tricky situation for me.It clearly wouldnt be an issue if we didnt have the unique choice of 3 players that would be automatic starters anywhere else......for that reason,i suspect Laporte will be off when the right club comes in.

I couldn't agree more. One of the Chief complaints in the past used to be annoyance at the often chopping and changing of Centerback pairings. It was a problem under Mancini, Pellegrini and Pep.

Now that we've had a season that was injury free and the performance of the starters excellent, I see no legitimate argument for forcing Laporte on the squad just to appease him.

Frankly I think that's what Pep did with Sterling in the final. Appeasement is stupid. Play those in form until they aren't. Period.

Regards Laporte,lets just hope we get his proper value.....either in straight cash or with player involvement.

I'd definitely be pushing for FDJ as a swap.

Given Stones’s chequered history, I would hate to see Laporte give up the fight. If the situation is the same a year from now, then fair enough for him to consider moving on.

Mancini? If I remember correctly, the only time we didn’t have Vinny and Lescott together was when Vinny was out injured

It was reported as him getting a massive salary before signing for them iirc .
