I think it was harsh Laporte was seemingly dropped because of the Son goal but its 3 times in a row hes had a mare against them and Pep no doubt lost his shit. Stones hasn't had the biggest challenges but hes done his job and Pep is no doubt happy with that. As it stands it has to be Dias and Stones for me. Laporte to get 90 against Olympiacos next week.
Respectfully I don’t agree with your opinion but that’s the beauty of opinions . Laporte is a class above stones and yes he has made mistakes but not on the level of stones . It’s great that stones is on a roll but remember it’s only been Burnley and the Olympiacos who are hardly top tier teams . We seem to forget the reason Dias was signed and that was to partner Laporte our very own vvd . As for the clangers against Spurs yes they were mistakes but we’re on the same level as pep did against Lyon . Hope pep is not holding it against him as we don’t want this guy walking . But like I say mate we all want the best for our club .

You are right that it has only been 2 game for stones. But pep is right in sending a message to laporte. We can't make him think that it's okay to make mistakes in big games and still be an undisputed starter. There are Four competitive CBs in the team and the ones that make the least mistakes at the back should get a start regardless of past reputation and this holds for Dias , stones, laporte and Ake. They just have to be patient, train hard and do their best when given the chance.

Unfortunately he makes them against the same team though.

Looks like there may be truth in those rumours that were going about that him and Pep had a falling out during training. Not played a game since those rumours began.

I don't disagree that Laporte is 'better' than Stones however Pep seemingly is going with the route of playing those in form at the moment which I think a lot of people have asked for. I would hope Laporte doesn't see this as some sort of attack and throw his dummy out like they do over at the rags. He should see this as a challenge, one hes not had for a while and step up. I would hope/presume he gets 90 mid week, but after today there is still no reason to drop Dias and Stones.

Having genuine competition for places in the starting 11 is very healthy
Yes, and nobody should be guaranteed a start. Sometimes, players also need a little lesson. I am sure that isn't the case with Laporte but just letting players know that they have a fight on their hands is no bad thing.

It must be rotation because nobody alienates there best defender because That is stupidity on a grand scale

Or maybe, just maybe, Pep is doing exactly what he promised he would do the very first time Stones came back in the side and not dropping someone until they make a mistake?

There is an issue in the squad of lacking personal responsibility for mistakes and fuck ups which effect everyone else's season, and career. It's partly because we always say, and Pep always says the system is king. It's the #1. A problem that seems to have come from that is the system takes responsibility when people make the same old mistake again and again.

Whether it's Aguero or Sterling missing big chances or Laporte fucking up at the back, somehow these players need to start delivering under serious pressure and as far as I can tell, what Pep is doing is putting on that pressure.

You fuck up? Enjoy the bench for the next month, someone else can and will do your job.

When Laporte comes back in the side he knows that any mistake he makes and he's back on the bench watching. And if he can't cope with that he can't take us to the CL. If he can, then in April he'll be ready instead of melting again.

I am just guessing here but given he's been awful recently, considering his earlier form, I wouldn't be surprised if words have been exchanged between him and Pep. He may well have said more than he should and be paying the price.

To be fair you are right and it’s good that this is happening now but next week is a massive step up from the likes of Fulham and Burnley but then again we will never know unless we play stones against the top teams .

It's possible and with Ake, Stones and Dias, he has competition.

Recent form awful? We are going into levels of hysteria that in no way have any bearing on reality.
