14 | Nico Gonzalez - 2025/26

Yeah I just struggle to see him staying if he doesn't have faith with Rodri injured now.

At this point it’s hard not to believe the rumours that he’s leaving in the summer. Has to be something significant in his game that Pep just doesn’t rate.
Shame because I don’t think he’s not proven his capability of being part of the squad. My only theory to him not getting minutes anymore is that the relationship between him and Pep has completely broken down.

It’s particularly damning that Pep has moved NOR out of left back instead of starting Nico G when you consider just how important NOR’s left back movement and performances have been in the last few weeks.

Pep would rather lose that momentum at left back than play Nico G in his natural position.

Maddening and, to be honest, a bit gutting. Especially if he leaves. Think he’s a fantastic player and will only get better.

I don’t see this being as negative as others. NOR is on fire and has been playing in the team, knowing exactly how Pep wants them to play at this key part of the season. For me this is the right change with Rodders missing, Nor is totally upto speed with what’s required where Nico G has not played much and might not be as aware of the tempo etc..

Problem of being Rodri's substitute is you're not really going to play, likewise for Haaland's substitute.

So players that are good options wont want to be holding bench game after game.

Don't see how anyone can think this is anything other than Pep doesn't fancy Nico G. He'll 100% leave in the summer. I feel sorry for him tbh.

Looks like he's going to leave. The way Pep Guardiola has been treating Nico Gonzalez since mid-season is absolutely terrible.
But Pep is playing a consistent starting line up and we are on a winning run.
Savinho, Reijnders, Marmoush, Foden, Ait Nouri not getting much game time either

First half of the league season - 1272 mins.

Second half so far - 105 mins.

The thing that’s jarring is that Pep heaped praise on him even when Rodri came back. Said he was incredible, said we wouldn’t be 2nd and chasing the title without him, called him our mini Rodri.

But he can’t get on the pitch. Doesn’t add up. Peps been here 10 seasons now, 585 games, we know what he’s like as a manager and he’s never gone from 100% faith in a player to discarding him completely.
