14 | Nico Gonzalez - 2025/26

Hahaha if a none city supporter posted that I’d understand all your posts! Come across as so bitter towards Pep like he has upset you
Since he was at Barcelona and Bayern too apparently, so makes his current view of Pep pretty much pointless and irrelevant, he hated him when we were having all that success.

Grow up lad. You don't get to my age without knowing people who are (albeit very occasionally) 'in the know'.
Not all information comes from the City kit man.

I don’t doubt someone older than God knows people, but you should be able to smell bullshit at your age ;)

But come on mate, do you honestly believe Zinchenko was sold because his missus said something Pep didn’t like?

I've not said that I am, and wouldn't claim to be. I'm just giving my opinion from my own experience.

He's obviously serial winner, but personally, I find him overly egotistic, arrogant, and unreasonably dismissive of players that he decides he doesn’t like. He's been the same throughout his coaching career.

You 'trust in Pep', I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him. Simple as that.
6 Premier League titles
2 FA Cups
4 League Cups
1 Champions League
1 European Super Cup
1 Club World Cup

He's brought us to a level we wouldn't even have dreamt was possible when we were enduring THAT Stuart Pearce season. You don't trust him, you say; fair enough. You're entitled to your opinion. I do trust him.

You're disdain and crusade against Pep is clear to see.

You have stated your opinion of him and his style to your personal cross and will be judged by that.

Not an issue, but there are so many who will find fault with your opinions.

But it is a forum so pretty sure you couldn'tcare less.

Should loan him, because when Pep fucks off at the end of the year he can take his oldies with him and the next manager can bring Nico G et al(Khusa, Reis, Bobb) back into the fold.
Never understand why some keep banging on about a rebuild. Won’t happen until everything is reset.

You're opinions of Pep and his style are clear to see.

You're personal crusade to diminish his achievements couldn't be more clear of obvious but of course on a forum , you are entitled to voice them.

Many will disagree and I'm sure you couldn't give a flying tuck , but at the same time many more posters will disagree with you.

I reckon part of the thing with Nico is he seems to be gassed after 60 minutes (and was subbed numerous times last season) -which is the thing from moving from the Portuguese league to the EPL

I've never sought to diminish Pep's achievements. That would be impossible. His record is unmatched and I'm glad he achieved so much at City.

I just don’t think he's the right person to take City forward any more, and have been of that opinion since we won the CL. That's when he should have gone imo.

I really don't have a problem with fans wanting Pep to stay on, that's their choice. However, I find the 'trust in Pep' mentality to be exceptionally shortsighted, as is the 'credit in the bank' response given by those who seem to think Pep’s more important than the club itself.

It's all about opinions. I respect yours, but you obviously don't respect mine! I don't have a problem with that. If you're happy then carry on.

We've achieved so much with Pep as manager and no one else could have done it.

The football has been mind numbingly boring for the past 18 months.

You can think both these things, I know I do. It's ok to disagree.

I do however think that coming on a forum to say "I have no opinion other than the clubs opinion" is really fucking pointless.

Nico should play more. (See I'm still on topic!l)

It was incredible how fucked he looked when coming off V Spurs. That wasn’t the only time, so I expect that has something to do with it

That said, I think he’s decent and should have had more opportunities

Another history lesson! If you honestly think 24/25 Pep City is anywhere near as good as 22/23 Pep City then fair enough. I don't. It's been a slow decline in performances since we won the CL imo.

Yes... Even though we won the 'four in a row' in 23/24. The signs of decline were already there and it got worse in 24/25. We only finished third because the teams in 4th to 7th were awful.

Recent history is usually a lot more enlightning than that of the more distant past.
Everyone can see there’s been a decline, there had to be at some point. Peps been at the top of English football since 2017. Anyone who expects City, regardless of what manager we have at the helm, to be at the top of the prem every season is bonkers.

We’re going through a rough patch, the best managers do. We’ve recruited some young hungry players over the past 6 months replacing some of the best players we’ve ever had. I’ve got faith in Pep getting it right, people have doubted him before. In fact, I can recall quite a few people on this forum doubting him in 2020 when we started the season poorly. Come Christmas time we came into form and won four titles on the bounce. If you’re saying Pep is past it or outdated, I think that’s a bit premature to say but that’s just my opinion.
