hoped he would start ahead of bernardo.
The treatment this player receives is the same as Khusanov's. He hasn't had the chance to play even three games in a row in the starting 11 so we can judge him clearly. He has shown some encouraging signs. He was good against Wolverhampton, far from the worst against Tottenham, and then not for a single minute against Brighton. It's so hard and incomprehensible. I'm far from being his big fan. He has shown good ability in duels, playing directly and moving the ball forward. I think he can play as a number 8 with Reijnders just in front of Rodri, which can provide a solid midfield. But Pep doesn't see it that way, which is a shame.
Pep seems to think its him or Rodri. But from what ive seen so far he'll be better just ahead of Rodri. Likes to run in to space and carries it well. Rodri, him and Reijnders should be our midfield. The treatment this player receives is the same as Khusanov's. I'm curious, with that midfield, what would it look the be the front 3?Pep seems to think its him or Rodri. But from what ive seen so far he'll be better just ahead of Rodri. Likes to run in to space and carries it well. Rodri, him and Reijnders should be our midfield.
I think with a more solid midfield like that we could afford to play wingbacks high and wide (RAN and Nunes) and play inverted forwards in Marmoush and one of Cherki/Foden, assuming all are fitI'm curious, with that midfield, what would it look the be the front 3?
Play broke down with him yesterday which lead to the goal. Not really wanted to comment on it because was feeling so positive after the result yesterday.
Anyway, he was at fault for a couple of United breaks within 2-4 minutes of coming on yesterday - think he let the ball go through his legs near half way on one of them. This resulted in Dias and Gvardiol both reading him the riot act in our 18 yard box in front of the South Stand. It was the biggest on pitch bollocking I’ve seen a player get for a good while.
I feel the same - really want him to do well & feel we have seen the odd glimpse. But a big part of me just sees Javi GarciaFeels like a real nothing player at the moment. I want to like him, but can't really point to anything he's particularly good at, it really feels like he's just another body in the squad at the moment.
I guess we need the team to get back to its best and then introduce him slowly in games we're playing well in, and then we migth see a few things that set him apart.
HmmmShould start against Arsenal over Reijnders
bit shit thenAgainst Napoli there was a point where within a couple of minutes he'd taken a heavy touch controlling the ball and also let the ball get stuck under his feet.
He's not rubbish, but that is what I've seen loads of times from him. A very "un-Spanish" first touch. A very "un-City" first touch, for that matter.
It's maybe not disastrous, but it's not ideal either.
