Whenever we take him off, we capitulate. It’s that simple. As long as Rodri isn’t fit, leaving Nico out is football suicide of the highest order. We’re hanging on because of him, and without another physical monster in midfield to support him, we’re asking for trouble every single match.

Doesn't even need to be a back up for them. We don't even have a box-to-box midfielder who can put a tackle in. We have too many 10s who bring no physicality to our midfield.

Ultimately taking him out yesterday and giving him some rest prior to Saturday proved the correct decision while still getting the 3 points , however it was a rollercoaster getting to that point and proved we have no adequate back up , which going full circle confirms getting him off and fit for the next game was the correct call.

It looks like I'm in the minority that thought he was a mixed bag today, and last game. He played much better the last 30 minutes or so, but the game was over then. I honestly think it's just a case of needing Rodri to rotate with. DCMs have to run more than anyone. Especially in this version of City, which is conceding far more counters.
