Could be the best £20M transfer (inflation adjusted) ever made by City if he continues in this vein.

Seems like a top individual who will fit into the squad ethos seamlessly, providing quiet, confident leadership to the team. Fully expect him to be one of the Captains next season, esp with Bernie leaving.

Some very, very tidy business indeed…and that’s from someone whose first comment when it was mentioned he was on our radar was “Meh.” I’m humble enough to say that his first 90 minutes in blue bode well, especially considering how important it is to start showing some clan sheets!

Leaders performance, hes a proper captain and he looks tailor made for Pep with his bal composure, just looks so calm and assured
 
A real question

What happens when there are two leaders as centre-backs? I am, of course, thinking about Ruben Dias' return. In your opinion, how will their partnership work out?
 
Great signing, calm and collective and was giving instructions on the line.

Defo harder tests to come but he could be the leader we need at the back and have really lacked since King Vin left

With due respect to Ruben, I reckon it's his place that would be under threat if Gvardiol were fit. Guehi and Gvardiol would be a superb pairing imo
 
I was thinking the same thing…. Who is the starting back four going to be if everyone is fit. Potentially Nunes, Guehi, Gvardiol and NOR. Mind you I’m not opposed to Nunes, Khusanov, Guehi and Gvardiol. However, I’m glad it’s pep making those decisions as it’s not an easy one to make. Dias has been a great player for us over the years since he has signed, but he just lacks any sort of pace.
 
Trying to keep it cool but his whole persona, attitude, calmness and obvious ability. Could be a proper stalwart for 4/5/6 years. Let's see but not been so excited by a cb signing for a long time.

EXACTLY what we need right now and hopefully him n Dias be absolutely rock solid when the time comes.
 
Hadn’t watched much of him until he came into the England team and I knew straight away he had it. Very exciting signing. I loved the way he was constantly barking orders and telling nico where to move after being in for only a few days.
 
Good partnership with Khusa and would also work well with Josko. I think him and Dias would be a disaster though. They are the same player.
 
Looks a class act in everything he does. The other players seem to have really taken to him.
