Having two 20 minute collapses in two massive consecutive games isn't a mentality worry?Lot of talk of ‘player mentality’ on the forum this week following 2 defeats.
A vast number of you should be concentrating on your own mentality.
We’ve had a phenomenal season and been served football of the very highest quality.
A couple of blips (which happen to every team) and a lot of you are acting like we’ve gone into admInistration.
‘Mentality’.
We lost the game because of loose balls in the box and set piece situations. The players responsible for the 3 goals were Otamendi, Dinho and Kompany - our two first choice center backs and the preferred DM. With the "weakened" attack, we created 9 clear cut chances, but couldn't finish them - this included mishits from Silva, Gundo, Sterling and Kun. What the fuck does the result have anything to do with the team selection? Are you guys just incapable of looking at this rationally? 1 bad game and we're already worse than Arsenal fans who've had to suffer because of Wenger for years. What a sorry excuse of a supporter.
Some sense at last. The over reaction on here is crazy. I bet if you canvassed all other teams supporters in the PL I believe 99.9% would want Pep as manager and the majority of our young squad in their team - we are really lucky to have him and some of the comments since last night just prove we have a minority of immature fans following us. Tuesday will be a great occasion and it is possible for us to go through but he had to rest a few yesterday to give us even the slimmest of chances.I agree with all you say. The last point is especially pertinent. I don't fear United at all. They got lucky yesterday. Their football is poor. If it keeps PEG in the job longer we'll benefit in the long run.

The lead was thrown away by mistakes from Dinho, Nico and Kompany - all 3 are starters. It's not like Danilo or Gundogan cost us the game. The team selection was more than enough to win the game and the overall performance suggested that the tactics were spot on. A couple of players made bad decisions similar to what we did last season. I don't see how that's on Pep.Are you serious. Had we played a striker the game would have been out of sight at half time. Is it not the managers job to actually coach the team on how not to throw away a 2-0 lead at home in a derby? Fucked over by 2 of the 3 teams I hate most in 3 days, the third if those teams awaits next Saturday. I'll get over it when I'm good and ready.
Yes and that team without a recognized striker created 6 chances in one half alone. How do you know that we would have had the same performance had we started with a striker? We created less with Jesus and Aguero in the second half than we did with Sterling, Bernardo and Gundo in the first half. So clearly his tactics worked. A couple players bottled it and that's it.You think we would have lost if we had Aguero, KDB and Walker starting? He sent the team out without a recognised striker!

This season has been incredible, but there's something that has gone badly wrong over these two games and it's not unreasonable to suggest it's a mental issue
The bigger picture was a dead rubber match on Tuesday? The title could have been sewn up yesterday against the biggest rivals.
