I don't disagree. I just don't think better cover exists really. I mean arguably anyone is better than what we have now which is, nobody, but Kovacic is probably the closest we have. Never going to happen and nor should it but it would be incredibly beneficial for him if he were to skip the euros and take a long break this summer. Imperative we sort out a better solution so we don't flog him, he will break if we continue. I'd take bruno from newcastle all day he can play alongside and instead of Rodri and would be a great addition. Failing that, I don't think there's a better option than John Stones, get deeper defensive options this summer so we have more than 6 defenders at the club and he could play more in midfield, his unreliable fitness record could be stumbling block however.
