High bar maintained. Remarkable job not to get booked and miss the spurs match, we cannot afford another midfield absentee right now. Needs to get through spurs too though. Can't have him unavailable for villa, without dismissing Luton, if he's going to serve a suspension which seems inevitable to me. It might be wise to engineer it so itd luton away or the palace home game where we should be able to cope more easily without him.
 
Had he not been a booking away from suspension, their goal doesn’t get scored. He had the chance to haul the bloke down on the halfway line but (rightly) chose not to.
 
That has to be the worst 45 minutes of his City career and has further emphasised what an insanely high level he's been consistently playing at for years now.

The only explanation I can come up with for that performance is tiredness from being overplayed which was inevitable. The decision to not sign a defensive midfielder in the summer was a big oversight.
 
Kalvin needs to go in January, so we can bring someone in and give this guy a rest. He is running on fumes, especially mentally. The man is not a robot. He needs a game off every now and again.
 
I still think he's in dire need of more frequent rest, it's affecting him mentally as well as physically and you can see it
 
Much better second half but we really need to sign someone in January so he's not having to play 60+ games for a second consecutive season, it's not sustainable.
 
We’re leaving him with way too much to do. First half was him against red bulls midfield. As soon as we moved to a box misfield and he had lewis next to him he was back to orchestrating the game.

but the more games like chelsea and today where he has to cover way too much ground then the more likely we injure him or burn him out. Its a problem.
 
He's looking fucked. Needs to hang in there for a few more games and Pep needs to help yim out as much as possible. Bernardo in there at all times and help them out with a third man second half when appropriate.

Get through spurs game without a yellow, see us through the villa game and hopefully with stones then back and perhaps kovacic and nunes available we can maybe engineer his impending ban yo suit us best and get him some rest before finding a capable alternative in January.
 
The worst performance I've seen from him in a while. He wasn't at his usual standard versus Chelsea or Liverpool either IMO.
