Great player but lord, help this boy control his emotions, even if the ref is being an unfair c***. We need him playing instead of being sent off and missing games. A very important player to the way we play. His presence and availability is season defining.

His last two red mists were caused by identical unpunished stamps on his foot right in front of the ref. I hope he can learn to control himself but he must be so pissed off.

If I was Pep, I would tell Rodri to take yellows against spurs and burnley... We can cope without him against brentford & everton / next round of fa cup... There isn't a better two fixtures to miss for the rest of the season and let's be honest, he will take two cards before it resets again.
Does the cup game count?

that should read his ONLY two red mist, never seen it before his red card, which imo was soft

Actually it does not, I just checked. I was just confused since he missed the carabao cup game with red card but apparently it's different with yellow cards / fa cup. However, if he was to get yellows against burnley and brentford, he would miss everton and chelsea, both home. That is the best pair of fixtures to miss for the second half of the season... So I would still be quite happy if he took yellows against burnley and brentford

TBH even after chelsea we have brentford and bournemouth, so any two of the next 6 fixtures would be fine, we can't afford to miss him for two games after United at home.

Rodri had a world class performance against Newcastle. Simply sublime. And I love him stamping on Guimaraes to return the favor. He takes no shit.

Rodri, though, needs to calm down somewhat... sometimes the Red Mist overcomes him, and he makes silly fouls.

Another booking today.
We are going to miss him when he gets the 2 match ban for getting to 10 yellows

I think he's only on 7 yellow cards isn't he?

He's likely to pick up another 3 yellows before our tough run starts with the game against Liverpool which means we need to make sure he's served the 2 game suspension by then. We also have Arsenal and Villa shortly after who could both still be in the title race at that point so we can't lose him for those games either.

It's obviously hard to plan this sort of thing but looking at our upcoming fixtures, the best case scenario is probably for him to miss Brentford at home and Bournemouth away although we might be able to get away with it against Chelsea, especially as it's at home. Ideally he would be back in time to start the derby but the main thing is just getting the suspension out of the way before we play Liverpool.

Our fixtures:

Burnley (H)
Brentford (A)
Everton (H)
Chelsea (H)
Brentford (H)
Bournemouth (A)
United (H)
Liverpool (A)
Brighton (A)
Arsenal (H)
Villa (H)

He was visibly pissed off since the moment we had conceded the second goal, he was probably projecting his anger at his defenders onto some NU players.
