When you look at Rodri’s yellow and the next two Newcastle fouls that were exactly the same, but didn’t get punished, it only fuels the “agenda” narrative.

That said, he’s simply got to stop it! If it means another player has to take a yellow, so be it!

Pep HATES giving away Fred kicks on the edge of the box, which means taking the foul by about the 30 yard mark, but if it means keeping Rodri on the field, then either take the foul closer to the goal or make someone else take the foul!!

It’s one rule for Rodri and one rule for every other midfielder in the League!
Tbh most Rodri yellows this season have been deserved. He's been left quite isolated against counter attacks in our kamikaze type games. I think he will be able to avoid yellows once we start controlling games better with stones, kdb and akanji coming back to starting lineup. Also, it would be nice to have an in form grealish for the more difficult fixtures in march...

They have mostly been deserved. It's just the inconsistency that gets me. You see players getting away with all sorts, and then Rodder's puts a foot in and the card comes out straight away.

What I’m saying is he shouldn’t be put in those situations, and when he is he shouldn’t be the one taking the yellow card! Other players need to be able to take one for the team when necessary!

Rodri…or GODri, as he should be called…has had an unbelievable season that begs belief, but not good enough for the FIFPRO XI?

Poppycock! I say.

Rodri’s recent record:

- 67 appearances for City & Spain

- Won 6 trophies

- Lost 4 games total

- Scored winning goal in Champions Lge Final

- Man Of The Match in the CL Final

- UEFA Champions Lge Player Of The Season

- FIFA Club World Cup Player Of The Tournament

- UEFA Nations League Final Man Of The Match

- Unbeaten in last 39 matches.

AND, should have won the Ballon D’Or as the Best Player in the World last year!

But, yeah, he’s bobbins that lad!!

You know it, I know it, all City fans know it, most knowledgeable fans know it, only those who haven’t got a clue give the votes out.

It will always be more likely that these awards go to attacking players with flair, creativity and goals. You get a random year where they decide to make someone outside of that flavour of the month - Modric and Cannavaro for in the Ballon D'or for example. But a player like Rodri is unlikely to be fully appreciated in any individual awards or team awards where the team doesn't need to reflect one that would actually win a game on the pitch.

You can see from the awards he's had for his performances that he's recognised, and if I was him I'd be happier with those accolades myself as they reflect a top performance in a high stakes game.

Not only is he a brick wall defensively but also the most threatening midfielder in the league according to the stats.

Absolute unicorn of a footballer. Bought as a stay-back defensive midfielder and been developed into the perfect, all-round midfielder who can play anywhere asked in the middle.
