Unfortunately one of the drawbacks of the quality squad we have nowadays is that virtually every player plays internationally, and you get injuries. Back in the day if we had 2 or 3 away that was it. I personally despise international football, but even the most ardent fan couldn’t defend the greedy football associations shoehorning 3 games into this break - stuff the clubs.

Will be the same clubs bitching about fixture pile up later on.

May be just an excuse to avoid the next international. Judging by his efforts in the England game, he thought it a waste of time.

Look at it from the players perspective. If they fail to qualify, they avoid two additional games next summer.
 
Other players will just have to step up in his absence, rather than them just giving the ball to KDB and expecting him to do his magic every time

its daft and crazy that most of city players have to play 26 or 27 games before christmas ?
player are going fall like flies over the next couple of weeks and months, i can see one of the big clubs like united or liverpool throwing in a spanner and want change and bring back the 5 subs

when you look at the bigger picture no pre-season a short turn around from last season and then covid-19 out break players did not training proper or get match fitness for 5 months. its the answer to why players are shot and not match fit. the body is not recovering right and rest is important between games, its why we are seeing results all over the place clubs and players are at different levels of fitness

lets hope its just that for KDB ? having pulled out of the next round of internationals kevin gets a good rest and recovers and fines some power and fitness
