I wasn’t being entirely serious mate as I could find no medical reference to a snapped hamstring. He sure as hell didn’t act like he had a significant grade 3 injury. I hope and suspect he will be back earlier than you outline.

You were right to doubt the severity of the injury.
I was simply speculating worse case which if it is early October return ( six weeks into the season which includes an weeks international break I.e. five weeks absence) we could easily cope with.

I just hope he will be allowed to get a decent period of rest. If Pep comes up with a decent plan for the start of the season without him he can make sure he is fully fit and firing before returning to the team.

Will be back early in the season for the UEFA Cup game vs Sevilla according to latest reports.
Grade 3 tear but no surgery required apparently.

PS I'd be tempted to give him a rest over the international break for an early September return.

He's still in his prime for sure but do give him enough time to rest and don't have him overworked again.
