Obviously I want him to play all the time but KDB being out for a few months feels like it might have been a blessing in disguise, because there's this aura surrounding him at the moment that's making teams teams shit themselves with dread at the thought of him playing them. You could see it with Newcastle today, when he was getting warmed up and getting ready to come on, they'd already slowed down and had stopped chasing us quite so intensely. And then KDB came on and just swept aside a team who'd already run as far as they could today.

An interesting aspect of the next month or so is how much he could potentially effect games from the bench.

For virtually his whole time at the club Kevin has been a guaranteed starter and rightly so but that has also meant that we've rarely seen what a fresh KDB can do up against tiring legs.

His reintegration will have to be very carefully managed and it might not be as simple as 30 minutes then 60 minutes then a full match. It could be a mixture of starts and substitute appearances for the next few weeks.

Obviously I want him to get back to starting games for us as soon as possible but I'm quite enjoying the prospect of having a truly unique weapon like Kevin De Bruyne on our bench in case we need him.

We've had a taste against Huddersfield and Newcastle and those were his first games back after five months on the sidelines so imagine what kind of impact he could have in the last 20 minutes of a match once he starts to gain more match fitness. A truly frightening prospect and it could win us more points like it did yesterday.

Agree. All that's left for him now is to finish writing his legacy. Feels like his profile is higher than ever at the moment. I've never ever seen such an outpouring of admiration for KDB online than I have tonight from fans of every club. He's truly ascended into all time superstar territory.

Fully agree with this
We all know he’s been the best midfielder in the world of this generation but the media play it down.
It’s like David silva never once got the praise , KDB feels a little the same until recently.

If we kick on to win the league or champions league again while KDB remains playing at this level. I reckon he will finally get the praise he deserves

I think that injury was especially unfortunate because I reckon this season is peak KDB in terms of age vs experience. Such a shame he’s missed half of it. We’d have beaten Liverpool with him in the side.

Anyway, great to have him back and he will undoubtedly step up in the months ahead. He’s such a leader. And an incredible footballer.

These are the days!

Back with a bang. Incredible impact off the bench. King Kev is inevitable.
