I'm glad I was sat down when I read that shite,
I'm staggered that this is so controversial. Just take a look at the game threads over the last few weeks. It's full of the same opinion. I know people want to change their opinion when we take three points, but he hasn't been at his brilliant best of late, IN MY OPINION.

The match threads are full of absolute whoppers, like me, who say ridiculous things in the heat of the moment

Kev hasn't been at his mercurial best in the last few games, but he still wins games for us, like he did last night

He can do what he wants imo. Another legend who will be recognised as the best midfielder to grace the premier.

I would like to see him play the Kova role beside Rodri for the next few years. No shame in admitting age is catching up. He plays deeper for Belgium so can’t see a reason why he can’t with us.

Opens up Phil to take over his mantle in time. I wouldn’t be pushing him out, plenty of years left.

He looks fairly knackered these last games as does Rodri. He delivered the ball of the match for our goal but his passing was off and maybe Sunday bring him on 2nd half to work his magic.. Also he seems to be running into the space where Haaland is and its too congested to let him get a shot off.

Have you ever posted anything that hasn’t been utterly shite?
He’s got a point to an extent. Not saying i agree it’s currently a conundrum because knowing he’s always likely to produce an assist or come up with a great goal added to the fact he works hard. Makes him well worth his place in the side. All that said there is no denying he’s on the decline. He’s lost a couple of yards where he could burst past a lot of midfielders in his pomp. So can lose the ball a fair bit now in those situations.

Just slightly more politely phrased bollocks

If you’re watching him and still think he’s the same player he was a year or 2 then fair play! He’s clearly not he’s lost a yard or 2 of pace and that leads to any player losing the ball more when dribbling or running with it. Even happened to Messi. On the other hand i’m not questioning his position in the team at the moment.

He's not at the level he was at last season, which was insane. The same could be said of Haaland as well. But both of them suffered fairly significant injuries ("very", in Kevin's case). That's bound to affect players. A 70% De Bruyne and Haaland are still automatic picks though, in my opinion.*

*Other opinions are available.
I think he has done brilliantly to come back from such a big injury and provide the goals and assists that he has at his age.

He does look slightly slower than before the injury, but that could be down to him getting older.

Yeah, i remember the Brentford away game where he had a very good game but at one point he was trying to get away from a pretty average paced player who got back at him. I thought then have injuries and age taken away that burst? Was hoping he was still not fully match sharp after his injury but months on it’s clearly not coming back.

Interesting thing with KDB though if he wants to stay playing at this level for a good while yet he’s got so much talent he could easily adapt his game on the future.
