I started watching city around the time of the 16/17 season, Kev pretty much got me into football. It’s heartbreaking to have seen him slow down at a reasonably rapid rate this year. I know he was starting to decline last year but he was still class. If he hadn’t had that last injury spell it could have been different.
I can’t understand how people compare him with the other best premier league mids, I’ve watched them out of interest and they don’t compare . His stats speak for themselves and when you watch him, you see that he is a truly great and up there with the best European midfielders.
So many good moments, particularly one of the Arsenal (one where he chipped Ramsey) and Madrid matches fairly recently where he just dominated them. Those bursts of speed, the best passer of the ball (ever) and the cleanest hit on a strike. When he was younger, the ball would just go completely straight and lift into the top of the net.
I have no doubt we would not have won half the trophies without De Bruyne. He was the difference maker, the big game player who pulled city through the tough moments.
Hope he rips it up in Italy!
Good luck and thank you Kevin De Bruyne.
