Re: The special one

Mourinho at United is my nightmare. The only manager around arrogant enough to think he could outdo Ferguson and good enough to actually do it.

(He'll have to wait another year for that.)

However its unlikely he will come to City, but he'll use us to get what he ultimately wants, and he won't give a toss for our club, I've little doubt about that, and if he thinks coming to Manchester a year early might help him get his ultimate prize, he would.

Re: The special one

The most important part of our season and what are we doing, worrying who is going to manager those tw@ts down the road, couldn't care less, because who ever it is he will only be there short term, Baconface was a one off and the sooner the f.....r drops the quicker we can have a party.

Re: The special one

Mike Parry started his morning Talksport show with "utd will never appoint Mourinho he'll tear all the pictures down & say you lot cheated to win all them trophys like clough did with the pictures at leeds when he took over from revie".
You could hear irani in the backgound wimpering,"but we didn't cheat",quality stuff.

I fail to see how coming to City helps him get the United job. I'd say the opposite would be the case. If he wants that job he'll either stay where he is or top up his tan for a year in Spain. If he comes here it will be to build a dynasty and leave a lasting legacy.

If he won us something of course it would help him, however if he won the champions league at RM he'd find it hard to leave there.

One thing is certain about Mourinho, is he'll look after himself, and not any club he manages.

That's a pretty weird thing to say...

He's left every club he joined in much better shape than when he joined - so it follows that he may be looking after himself first and foremost, but he also looks after the clubs he manages...

Anyway, either way, after tonight I'm more convinced than ever that Mourinho IS the man I'd want as manager - but also that he won't be joining City this summer. Not for all the oil in Abu Dhabi...

He doesn't need to come here to improve his cv, and I doubt very much that being manager of their local rivals would endear him to those of a Red persuasion. In my opinion, when he returns to England it will be for a long term project. I only hope that it's with us.

Winning something at City would improve anyones CV, since nobody has done it in 34 years.

Mourinho only has one long term project, and that's Mourinho. If he comes he'll be gone in 2 years, and that's no use to City (in my opinion).

What I meant was that Mourinho is either on United's radar or he isn't. He doesn't need to come to City to raise his profile. You seem to have a very low opinion of Jose which I don't share. He took Porto as far as he could and left for a fresh challenge. He did an excellent job at Chelsea and would still be there now if the owner there wasn't such a prat. He has been successful at Inter, but is unhappy in Italy and craves a return to England. We can offer him the chance of a long term project to call his own, but even if you are right and he was only here for 2 years, I'm willing to bet that they would be 2 extremely successful years, and he would leave us in a much stronger position than he found us.

Re: The special one

We are the special club ! We play wonderful fotball and we are gone get many titles next year,And we are the only club with a moon, that is blue.
Mancini is mayby not the special one but he is the chosen one, and nobody
wears a scarf like him.....

Not sure what's weird about it, if he won something here and left then he'd be following exactly his normal path, and probably leave us better than when he arrived, but leave he would if a better offer came to rub his ego.

He hasn't won the tie yet, yes they played very well from what I saw, but its not over at 3-1. I agree totally with the rest of the quote.

He won't be on their radar till Souralex leaves, but you can be sure they're on his radar.

I don't have a low opinion of his skills as manager at all, just his ego, he'd manage us fine if he came, but he'd toss us to one side as soon as he got something else to further Jose. RM, Utd, or Portugal, and an outside bet Brazil.

Maybe so. But he would have transformed us in the meantime.

Re: The special one

Why is it that when City and Jose are mentioned in the same breath I sense dark clouds looming?

Not doubting he could get us to win something, which in itself is worth it, but the two don't seem to match.

I honestly think it would be a love/hate affair between the two. Interesting and possibly successful in the short term, but very scary.

Why do I feel like that?

If anyone calls me a pessimistic git then they are probably correct.

Oh , he's arrogant alright ......

but follow up Fergies success , and with some of Fergies trusted ageing players on the way out ?

trophies won't arrive on the same scale , even if he is 'succesful' there.
