It wasn't an error but it was very saveable. it's exactly the thing many on here have laid into ederson for failing to save. There’s a reason no match report is calling it an error.
It wasn’t one.
Save of the year? Come on now. I didn’t see it strictly as an error but it was definitely saveable.First goal he seemed to lose his footing, it is what it is.
Second goal, if he keeps that out you're calling it the save of the year. The dive isn't great but a point blank header away from the body isn't exactly routine.
That being said, he got bailed out by Ake because once again he's insanely indecisive on an attacker breaking through. He had no reason to come out for that ball and was far too late in doing so. He doesn't seem to know when to trust his defender. There's no risk in staying back at that point.
Don’t think we are allowed to play 2.2 keepers needed in the summer.
not heard that in years... lolWheatabix dive.
David James disagreesDon’t think we are allowed to play 2.
I'm not looking at the keeper when a defence allows a player to get the ball five yards out directly in front of goal with not a single challenge and time to pick his spot.
The second goal was a good attempt to stop a powerful header, shame we seem to head the ball back to the keeper in the same scenario.
His passing to Erling was excellent.
Not top priority but if good prospects are available at the right price…2 keepers needed in the summer.
He didn't even control the ball instantly and hit it. He mis controlled it, stumbled a bit, counted to 10 and still slotted it in with our defense floundering around. Can't blame Ortega for that in any way. Second goal he will be a bit disappointed in, but again lack of pressure on the cross and Akanji is to slow and flat footed to get any pressure on the header. Ortega is a decent keeper and the least of our problems at the moment.I'm not looking at the keeper when a defence allows a player to get the ball five yards out directly in front of goal with not a single challenge and time to pick his spot.
