Ok, the 1894 Group Songs App is now available for Iphones and Android. You can download it from our webpage here - http://www.1894group.co.uk or click on this link here.

https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/1894-gr ... 52579?mt=8

Let's get the whole ground singing our songs. As we go forward with it , it will develop into a library of almost every City song ever sang !

I don't mind that the app costs as it's for a good cause and hardly a drop in the ocean at £1.99 but if the app was free I think there's huge potential for an 1894 group app and advertised correctly on Facebook twitter etc could become huge, there aren't many mcfc app's are and it's a huge market I think it could I turn be very popular, just an opinion as optimistic as it is, but well done anyhow great idea

we obviously thought long and hard about this and discussed it. lots of people out there keep saying the same things, look at the aris fans, look at the Dortmund fans ,look how they are organised, look how they go about things. to get to that stage takes years and money.

we had enquiries from supporters club branches abroad who wanted to contribute but wouldn't be involved like the local branches were. this way they can help fund the match day experience for everyone who goes. the idea is that as we grow we can share some of the money with fans, we already give out inflatables and perhaps we can give away more as we go on.

we don't want other fans trolling us trying to ruin it so we are positioning ourselves purposely away from the free app market. pay for apps are growing and people will pay for a quality product. the money will go back into things for City fans and no-one can say we are not trying to address the issue of singing / noise. it's for City fans by City fans

it won't be for everyone. and the price will go to £3.99 for the year shortly - or 99p a month. (choice is yours) but it's there for whoever wants it.

the other issue is of course the set up costs have been large and we need to get that money back first. so of course we need to charge.
people who pay hundreds if not thousands of pounds each year travelling across the country and abroad watching City. for the price of a pint town they can make a real contribution to changing the face of home games and ensuring it is nice and loud moving forward.

Unsure if knowing the songs is the reason behind the atmosphere though. Most of our songs are quite easy to know, but some people make no noise and expect the next person to do that. More and more non season ticket holders move to the south stand for cup games as well, bringing their library attitude with them.

I understand where you are coming from but what you state here is a subscription model. That is different again and demands continual quality and originality to justify the cost.

That will be the case

-- Fri Jan 03, 2014 8:27 pm --

Just a quick point to say we are aware of some teething problems on the I phone version. We had this with the android launch too. Please bear with us and we will rectify this as soon as we can.

Pay to learn songs....is this a joke thread?

No. Its chip in and help a fans group grow if you want to and don't if you don't want to.

money gets spent on displays. Plenty of blues worldwide getting involved because its a way then can contribute financially when they are not able to attend games

will also be a good way to stop good chants dying out.

always bluemoon that has to give everything a negative slant.

Bit unfair on your supporters on bluemoon..

Paid for App with good content is ok, continued payment bit much to ask, I would personally prefer to opt into donating as and when posable rather then paying a subscription, so now changed my mined about buying the App when it finally gets working on iPhone..
Just a side note dose it say its a subscription or likley to change to one in the future when you purchase initially ?

I've just bought this fucking app it's a load off bollox is there anyway I can get a refund

One thing this app won't be is a load of bollocks. Fans who care about carrying the songs have been updating it so eventually you'll have a huge range on there.

To echo the other guy's point we have worldwide support and subscribers from the City branches in ireland italy germany belgium and the u.s.

but if you want out just go to the my apps bit on your own phone and just cancel. Anyone can have it or leave it whenever they like

Not trying to throw a spanner or undermine the efforts , just wondering how the subscription bit will work as there not really anything mentioned about additional costs when purchasing (unless im missing something ) if I buy it for the price it is today will I get continued use of it or will it cease to work once you go subscription?? And don't you think it would be a good idea to let people know this when purchasing original app so they don't get a sence of injustice or of being ripped of if and when they can no longer use the app they have already paid for ?
May save yourselves a bit of negative press as and when you change your terms of sale..

Nothing works on the app

Ringtones all you get is 5 standard ringtone that come with every phone

Chants all you get is the same thing

The only thing that works is videos of the chants which is just a shitty link to YouTube

Fucking piss take I'd advise everyone to stay well clear of this it's just a scam and a rip off

I think there are 2 ways to look at the app.

If you are a regular match goer or a serious fan then think of it as donating to the atmos.

If you are a random City fan with little knowledge etc the app would be a learning curve.

Donating to the atmosphere???

Since when has singing at a football ground needed money pumped into it?

As the guy says flags, inflatables and paper for streamers all cost money mate.

Call me old school and old fashioned but flags, inflatables and paper streamers are not needed either.

Its the razz-a-mataz and piped music that's killed atmosphere along with all seater stadium.

You are quite right.

I've bounced about at the back of the Kippax in the good old days but the structure of the crowd has changed probably mainly with price and seats these days and the passion we can probably both remember has gone in its old guise forever.

There's no doubt that what 1894 are doing is adding a bit of life to the crowd though.
