1894 are doing a Singing Section against Borussia Dortmund. If you fancy helping to create a brilliant atmosphere on the night - get involved!

1894 Block vs Dortmund

On Bonfire Night, City play Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. With Erling Haaland facing his former club, it should be a big night at the Etihad.

We’ve been working with the club to set up a singing section, and we’ve been given an initial allocation of 100 seats at the front of Block 315 in the third tier of the South Stand.

We’re inviting members to be part of the 1894 Block and help build the atmosphere by linking the singing from the back of the third tier with Level 1. The aim is to create a stronger, more joined-up section that can set the tone on the night.

How you can join us.

To join the singing section against Borussia Dortmund, click on the 'Join Singing Section' button below and fill in your details.

There are some important points to note:

  • Seasoncard holders on the UCL cup scheme can relocate (by filling in the form) but not refund will be processed for fans relocating from more expensive seats (we're working on this for future singing sections).
  • Fans who have not yet bought a ticket can fill in the form and a ticket will be reserved in your account at tickets.mancity.com for purchase at a later date.
  • The seats are located at the front of block 315 in South Stand Level 3
  • The deadline to join is Tuesday 14th at 5pm.
  • If you are in a group who would relocate, you must fill in the form seperately for each supporter (e.g. if there are three of you, you should have submitted three seperate forms with each supporters details).

Signed up. Looking forward to this. It’s great that you’ve managed to get ‘seats’ at the front of SSL3.

Just because I want to contribute to making a noise and helping to create an atmosphere doesn’t mean I want a shit view of the match.

Well 1894 group, I expect a pile on to this post but I’d appreciate if you hear me out. Did you really think this plan through? As someone who has a season ticket in 315 this was a disaster. I have nothing against what 1894 group do and enjoy standing in the lower tier on most champions league games since I cannot bring my dad to night games usually.

Tonight in 315 with my 83 year old dad it did nothing but cause aggravation to the regular 315 seated match going fans.

We liked the flag waving etc before the game but then you need to sit down as it’s a seated part of the ground.

All the 1884 group did was stand up as if they were in safe standing section but this is a seated section.

After 10 minutes 1 particular fan would not sit down in front of our row and a 70 year old fan as well as my Dad could not see. After being asked to sit down he turned round and stated they were not real fans for not standing up the full duration of the game. I think saying this to a 70 year old who asked him to sit down is quite disgusting.

My Dad is 83 and finds it difficult to stand for any period of time but he is not disabled.

I may sound like a I’m moaning but I enjoy bringing my Dad who has been coming every game since the 1956 cup final.

Just think this through in future thanks.

I’m also in 315 and 100% agree with this post - it was embarrassing , basically two people at the front one with a megaphone !! What next a drum FFS - whoever thought it was a good idea to relocate to 315 as opposed to area where people stand ? As for the comments to 70 year olds that’s poor and In all honestly the ‘regulars ‘ who are there for League games wouldn’t have been so forgiving of comments like that

Nothing against the 1894 group using SSL3 myself I sit in 315 but use the back of the blocks for next time like you have previously done last season it worked then why move to the front where fans sit down?

Maybe it was ill thought out, but the intentions were right to join upper and lower tiers. A number moved from that section moved within the first 10 minutes and most moved up to the back for the duration of the second half.

It’s about trying new things - some work and others don’t. I’m sure no-one’s intention was to piss anyone off.

That's bang out of order that. The **** refusing to sit down when he's blocking the view of OAP's, who can't be expected to stand, is disrespectful to say the least. Anyone with a modicum of respect would understand that.

I wasn't aware of this, but did wonder why there was a guy with a megaphone a few rows on front of us. Now I know, I'd say it was a complete failure, even a few rows back I couldn't hear him or them.

I'd agree that further back might be better, but songs generally start back there anyway, and spread forward, so don't think it made any difference at all to the normal games.

One other thing there were an awful lot of none regulars in there last night, "tourists" if you like, and many of them don't join in much.

Problem is 1894 cannot see the difference between standing all game and actually making some noise, its seems to be deemed a real fan who contributes to the atmosphere the only pre requisite it to stand all game with your arms folded, no actual need to make any noise.

I was in 317 and didn't realise there was a signing section 2 blocks away, which can't be a good sign.

I don’t think a singing section next to away fans with a drum has much chance of success. May need to pick battles.
