I think I read a report said Alvarez was not feeling very well recently. Understandable it is his first European winter and he needs to adjust to the weather. (If we can still call UK part of Europe:) The first winter is usually hard for boys from South America. Jesus said he was home sick when he first arrived.

I think that Pep has patience and trust in him. So should we.

It is up to Alvarez if he wants to toughen it up and adjust to English football and weather. Many ran away to Spain like Rafinha but I hope him to stay.

Forget your winter weather comment for a start. The temperatures over the last month have been incredibly mild. We can judge him on that score by the end of January after we've had some proper winter weather. I think Alvarez is a tough young lad anyway and it's so early to judge him yet. Look at how many of our great players struggled in their first season at the club.

Not sure why there’s some overreacting in here. Did anyone seriously expect him to contribute a lot this year? He’s getting his minutes, learning each time he’s out there… good experience for him. His arrival was for the future not for the present.

Told posters to curb their enthusiasm about this one. He would prove to be a decent signing but not an improvement on Jesus as some had previously suggested.
Oh come on, don't pretend to be the voice of reason haha, many of us agreed with you from the very beginning, it happens to every young player on their first european experience. However, there's very little to critizise about Alvarez's game today, not even Jesus could've stood out in this game, it's as if every time he gets the chance to be a starter the opponent coincidentally chooses an ultra-defensive style of play (not because of him of course), you can clearly see him surrounded by 2 or 3 defenders almost every time. And it's not like the team is playing extremely well, it's no coincidence that both Alvarez and Haaland had zero service in the previous game, Haaland has the height and aerial ability advantage but he also needs the help from his teammates.
