great piccy that good memories! and agree top kit. don t remember the second keeper, don t think he ever played 1st team did he?
Think Macrae played for most of 73/74 season then Corrigan won his place back and had a long run in the team

He played in the 74 league Cup final against Wolves.

Had that on my bedroom wall for years, only City picture/poster that I did, plus my only ever full kit I ever owned, couldn't remember those 3 names either, just looked up their stats & between the 3 they had less than 20 league appearances between them.

On the picture I'm struggling with a few players.
Who are the two players between Donachie and Power?
Two players bottom left (think Ged Keegan is furthest left)
And is that Glyn Pardoe to the right of Peter Barnes? Didn't think he was still playing by then?

Between Donachie & Power - Mick Docherty (Yes, Tommy's son!) and Mike Lester.
Bottom Left - Yes, Ged Keegan and Dennis Leman (my eyesight may be failing me though!).
Pardoe - Yes, still on City's books. I felt it was a major shame that he was not a guest of the club on the pitch on Sunday. As a 1970 League Cup goalscorer and a squad member for 1976 League Cup final he should have been there. Instead he was sat up in block 532 (next block to me) in a regular seat.

wow

City Legend scored the goal that won the cup in 70 and was an ever present in the league winning campaign Mr Ever Present

one club player and up there in terms of appearances even though the horrible alky rag **** from belfast ended his career prematurely otherwise he'd probably be right up there with his cousin

why the fuck is he not on the pitch with the rest of the legends?!?!

Pardoe ,Pardoe, he's off to Mexico,
With Bell and Lee and Summerbee,
Pardoe ,Pardoe, Pardoe, Pardoe........

When I interviewed Dave Watson a couple of years ago I asked him about this. It had to be edited for the article I wrote but this is what e published: "That was a great season and we were really looking good. We missed the title by a point to Liverpool. I scored an own goal against Liverpool that season and that point would have won us the championship. I feel responsible. Most defenders take responsibility whereas forwards don’t need to. They miss chances, but our mistakes are noticed. If I was picking a 5-a-side team during training I’d always go for the defenders because the team that’s going to win is a team of defenders. We’d chase back... Not take too many chances… whereas the forwards would lose the ball and not chase back. My first rule is always ‘If they don’t score we can’t lose’ and that’s a good starting point.

I played as a forward and so I know how the mentality works. Forwards and defenders are different breeds, and that made me appreciate what it takes to be good in both roles."

We all think about individual moments like this as significant but, as Dave Watson was my hero in the latter 70s, I personally reckon it wasn't all down to that one moment, though it's nice to see that he does accept responsibility (says a lot about Watson - we never really replaced him until, I guess, recent times).

Dave Watson is, in my mind at least, one of the greatest players that has ever put the sky blue shirt on. He was imperious, Nothing and no one got past him, and like you I think he was one of the finest players ever to grace the turf at Maine Road.

I have spent the last 30 minutes or so looking for the official MCFC hall of fame without success.

If Dave Watson isn't in it, then he fully deserves to be.

He'd be our best player if he was in the squad today.
