Former City skipper and all round top fella Paul Lake with his City debut match worn shirt v Wimbledon from 24th January 1987

Probably saw every game Paul played for City, and a good few in the youth team. We will never know, how good this lad would have been. I do know that Swales would have flogged him in a eye blink, without the awful injury v Villa at Maine Road.

Not a City shirt but certainly a City connection and also very 1980’s !!

City legend Mike Summerbee’s match worn shirt & shorts from the iconic 1981 film Escape To Victory in which he starred as Sid ‘Buzzer’ Harmer alongside the likes of Pele, Bobby Moore and Sylvester Stallone.

The kit was produced by Stockport based manufactures Bukta and donated by Summerbee to Charity event in the late 1980’s.

Colin Hendry match worn First Division City debut shirt on 18th November 1989 v Nottingham Forest....Hendry would be be voted man of the match in a 0-3 home defeat.

1986/87 First Division squad signed original Mitre match ball believed to have been used in the first ever televised live Manchester Derby on 14th October 1986 in which Mick McCarthy would score a bullet header during a 1-1 draw.

Ball was donated following the fixture by Ken Barnes to a Charity event.

Not a shirt but the 80's for sure from 7th November 1987 squad signed match day programme from our 10-1 victory over Huddersfield Town.

Three balls were awarded to the three hat-trick scorers David White, Paul Stewart & Tony Adcock while man of the match Paul Simpson received a bottle champagne instead of a ball, which were normally given as prizes that season for the MOM but Bernard Halford refused to give up a 4th ball !!
