Sticker books were the shit. Completed a couple Premiership ones and the World Cup 1998 one. I remember when we got promoted in 2000 I was buzzing when City were in my Premier League sticker book.
Always hated it when you stuck one in an it creased. arrrrggghhh!!!

Ah, Sega. Sonic, Sonic 2, Streets of Rage, Vermillion, Aladdin... Then onto the mother of all consoles, the standard setter which was the N64. Ocarina of Time , GoldenEye 007 and Super Mario 64. All genre defining, 'walking patent office' material. Good stuff. Still play all those games with emulators and most of them have held up very well.

Tamagotchis, had a few of those, but got bored pretty easy. Also had the cheapo ones instead of the real thing. You see, we had it tough. I used to have to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed... Pogs were shit too. Pokemon I did like. The TV show and Gameboy games, nostalgia aside, were genuinely good as far as kids stuff is concerned. Fuck it, it was good full-stop. I got into collecting the cards as well. It was supposed to be a trading card game but in our school it was just about trading the actual cards, which involved shinys. Shiny cards with powerful creatures on are childhood gold. Will never forget the day I got Charizard. Cost me a bundle of shinys but was worth it for the massive schoolyard cred I got. Aside from that, I remember Power Rangers (good toys, shit telly), Thunderbirds being in vogue, especially with Blue Peter's Tracy Island (excellent toys, decent-ish telly) - again my impoverished childhood meant I had to help make mine as opposed to it being bought for me (kids these days don't know they're born), Fresh Prince, Kenan & Kel, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Sister Sister, Smart Guy. Again, nostalgia aside, that was much much better than the shit like iCarly and Drake & Josh they're churning out these days. The Simpsons was also much better back then, but then again South Park didn't really hit form until 2002 and didn't peak until season ten - so not everything was better.

Other shit, apart from City, Oasis and Blur and the battle of Britpop, Euro 96 and Three Lions, Ace of Base, Spice Girls, Fatboy Slim, Chumbawamba, Gina G, Hanson (shudders, look what the 90s inflicted there!), Sunny D, Cheesestring.

Completely fucking forgot about those travestations.

Bernards Watch was a highlight of the 90's for me. Watched that and Art Attack religiously after school.
Gel pens were a massive craze at my school too. sucking the gel ink out of the pen to colour your throat in

Subbuteo and scalextric :)
Playstation - the origional one! Playing fifa indoor, as has already been mentioned.
I also went through a phase of collecting WWF action figures.

I think I still have all my pokemon cards, football cards/ sticker books somewhere.

The gameboy was top! Pokemon and super mario, tetris!

Haha some great memories in this thread

Pokemon Cards

WWF - my mam and dad had the old nynex chipped box hooked up to the tv in there room, where you could only watch what was on downstairs, i used to have swimming on a Friday night, get home as fast as i could for late night RAW on SS3, but then at midnight SS3 turned into a porno station so i missed the best part of the show but got a sneaky 10 mins of porn til my dad realised

Sticker Books - started off with the best intentions, then got pissed off when i needed a few left and never finished them

The Star Wars little pog thinks you collected from Doritos and stuck them in the folder you got, i still remember getting Hans Solo and screaming with joy like a little girl because it was so rare

Hooking up 2 VHS recorders to the 1 tv so you could copy tapes for your mates

Yo-yos, £1 from ashton market fucking great trying to actually do tricks with them

Biker Mice from Mars, i loved that show and the toys, i remember getting the hideout for xmas what a present

Power Rangers, many a time i fantasised about Pink Ranger, best toy i ever had was the one where you stuck all the toys together to make a big fuck off power ranger/tranformer type thing

Micro Scooters, how shit were they

Begging your mam and dad for a real pair of adidas predators, but always ending up with the £40 pair, then really looking after them for about a week rubbing dubbin on them, til you played your first game and never washed them again

Mighty Max, remember those little toys, fucking great

Keenan and Kel, Smart Guy, Sabrina, Wizadora, Zapp, Fun House, they don't make em like that anymore

Corn Dogs, shite from america, ate one with my goalie gloves on once, couldn't get the smell out for months

Too many to think of right now, i'm off to think of some more :D
