Financial experts are warning a global financial meltdown as two companies face a perilous future.
UK enterprise "Cash My Gold" Limited are expected to announce massive losses in the next calendar year, due to the shortage of supplies from one of their previously most reliable sources, Manchester United FC.
The CEO of the company said "In the past few years we have had a strong working relationship with United which has seen both sides sustain good profitability out of our transactions, but we are looking at a bleak next quarter (of the year) and there seems to be no sign of the situation imminently improving".
The arrangements between the two parties were arranged when Malcolm Glazer took ownership of the club. Seeking to improve profit margins at the debt ridden club, he agreed to sell the contents of the club's trophy cabinet to Cash My Gold and its sister company, Sell My Silver UK.
However, with the club's recent failings in domestic and european competitions, both companies are noticing a downturn in profit, though Sell My Silver is reported to be in a better financial state due to the recent arrival of the Carling Cup, the sole trophy United have won this season.
Both companies are hoping for a United Premier League success to stave off their financial problems, as the majority of their business is dealt through the trafford based club. Experts are however predicting an uncertain future for all 3 corporations, leading to the growing concern in the stock exchange.
Manchester United declined to comment on the situation officially though sources report that the Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was seen wandering around the ground with a bottle of whisky mumbling "typical Germans" repeatedly, the cause of his distress is currently unknown.
