Really starting to think nothing will happen now. I would hope we are a bit more organised than last minute panic deals.

Our squad isn't as big or as good as the myth surrounding it. Part of that 'squad' comprises players who will never be selected. Events over the last month have shown that, once we lose 2/3 top class players, we look average.
Contrast that with the swamp - however you rate their players, they've had injury after injury - playing what we consider to be a weak central midfielder at centre half at 1 stage - yet they are still on our coat tails.
We have to be strong enough to cope with long term injuries to Kompany, Yaya, Silva and Aguero. Without Tevez. we are already a forward short. We now know, after the last month, that Savic isn't ready for the Prem.
The way Kompany plays, it's not beyond the imagination that he'll get sent off again before the end of the season, which would then be a 5 game ban. Lescott's been lucky with injuries this season so far, but, if a Kompany ban and Lescott injury coincide and we have Kolo Toure and Savic as centre halves, we can kiss the league godbye.
Mancini has demonstrated that he won't play the inexperienced nippers in the Premier league, so, to guard against all eventualities, I hope he can do some good business and bring in a couple of experienced players over the next 36 hours. Not going to get involved in who - that's a very difficult question but, if we sign noone, whilst its reasonable to say that we already have the squad to win the prem, I don't believe we do if we have another bad run of suspensions, or god forbid, injuries to major players.
You are as good as the reserves you can bring in.
Finally, I recall debating on here 12 months ago that we need to sign someone with a bit of speed up front. We've got Dzeko and Aguero since then, but lost Adebayor, Bellamy and Tevez. I was hoping for a fast winger ,as I didn't think that Johnson was quick enough. I stand by that, and , as Johnson has looked more and more of a weak link as the rest of the team has got stronger, I'd still like us to have a fast winger, in addition to cover elsewhere.
