i honestly believe we are 2 players away fro having a nearly complet squad.

a winger/striker.

for me id take lavezzi if at all possible.

im also torn between wheteher we need a world class midfielder , or maybe a world class centre half? or both?

plenty of classy players out there, but only the bestwill do now.

if you had the choice of 2 players realistic options, who would you bring in?
 
Think we have a few coming through in kids Razzak etc and i would give guidetti a go and we could keep pizzaro. We need a world class fast tricky winger like hazzard and a central player like Martinez who could play CB or DM?

I reckon those two would cost 50-60m and we could get them. Between Weiss, RSC, tevez, adebayour and a few kids we could fund 75% of the cost.

For me our gap this year was when no yaya or no kompany and Martinez (with Razzak in time) could do that, super rhino gives us the fourth striker and hazard would give us the missing x factor. Not much change needed now just a small tinker each year.

I do suspect we will go all out for a world superstar though for the profile even though I would personally prefer not to.
 
Ive always thought the only area we need to look at was a centre half alongisde Lescott, Joleon has been out star man at the back this year and he proving so many people wrong that he more than up for the task, i just wish he was a little quicker though!

Always like Vermalen at Arsenal, good defender and can play a bit too.

A centre mid possibly, when Yaya was absent we really really missed him, it disrupted the way we play and affected our striking prowess hugely.

A goalscoring midfielder in the mould of Yaya (dont think there is one) but a player who can drag the team kicking and screaming over the finish line is possibly our missing piece.
 
For me we need someone who can do AJs role and also as a back up striker. The only worldy player who comes close to that combination is Lavezzi. . For me the other area is someone who can sit deep but spray 30 to 40 yard passes, attack when needed and score goals and that is why I plumped for Benega, only trouble is the bugger went and got himself injured.
 
Depends on who leaves but at the moment to push us up another level I think we need a world class centre half to challenge lescott. A pacey winger who can play on the right or the left and if we sell dzeko or ballo a striker but I would be very happy with keeping our strikers and bringing guidetti back to give us a bit more depth. Centre mid could also be another position we could strengthen but with razak getting good reviews and pizzaro looking good maybe we should see who goes before we buy.
 
Shaqiri at Basle would be a great addition got bags of skill and is a real premier type player-need to get him because this guy will be snapped up soon -Vertongen at AJAX looks good to .

He's already off to Bayern in the summer for a potential bargain 10 million euros
 
Another quality defender is a must for me. Didn't fancy jumping on the Verthongen bandwagon but he after seeing him against United, he looks a decent CB.

Personally I think Hummels at Dortmund looks the business and could do a job in the Premiership.
 
Yeah, I also think we need a defender. There is a lot of rallying for Hummels or Verthongen but at the moment it's Javi Martinez who we are most linked with, although we would buy him as a defender (as Bilbao use him) or midfielder (as he is more prolific for)?

Whoever we get, we need to avoid a repeat of January as Kolo is likely to go away to AFCON again next season - if he stays! Savic needs a good loan deal for one season to a Premier League club, surely one will take him despite his shaky performances. He's still better than what Bolton have for example. So we'd have Kompany, Lescott, new signing, Kolo as our four, with Rekik as fifth choice and probably the opportunity of some cup games. Savic to return the following season when Kolo is probably sold as he'll be 32/33 by then.

The other signing for me would be the winger most of us want to see. I'm not really bothered who as long as he's fast or direct. Lavezzi is my favourite but Di Maria, Hazard, Pedro (out of favour at Barca, if we get the ex-Barca chiefs, maybe...?), Bale... doesn't matter as long as he is high quality, just someone to give us that extra option.
 
If we sell Tevez in the summer then I think we should go for some sort of deal for Cavani and Lavezzi.

Guidetti has looked excellent recently, I'd like to see him get a chance in the team or a prem league loan.

A fowrard line of Aguero, Balotelli, Sturridge and Guiidetti

young, skilfful ant talented + two would be academy players

Its a nice idea, unfortunately world class centre backs do not sit on the bench.

you wont sign a "world class" centre half without promising him first team football first, which would then mean dropping JL to the bench, which imo isnt neccesarry because I think the JL and VK partnership is developing quite nicely.

I think kolo is as good as you'll get for central defensive cover, towards the end of an experienced career at the higher end of football, champions league experience etc would probably walk into any premier league side outside the top 5 or 6.
 
Might get shot down in flames for this one, but really think Diego Forlan would fit in with our style of play.
 
Martinez as he can play CD, DMF and CMF. He is exactly what Mancini likes in a player. This would be the end of DeJong as I can't see Milner or Barry going. The other would have to be a pacey winger ala Sanchez. Ronaldo, Lavezzi, Hulk, Hazard, De Maria, Bale all seem to be in the frame. Personally I would like Hazard

If We Could Get Ronaldo that would be fantastic.

But if not id go For Sneijder and Van Persie.
