Is this his natural level though? 18/19 may have been a stand out season. Even Mahrez had one of them when playing for Leicester.

Personally I think he has one position and that is wide right cutting in. If he can’t play there then he might as well not play because he adds nothing in the middle.

Are we disregarding everything he's done outside of City? He was amazing for that Monaco team and he was Portugal's best attacking player when they won the Nations League.

For those saying they have doubts he'll return to his best for us and he's better off somewhere else, I might not like it but I can see where they're coming from.

Anyone doubting his very obvious abundance of talent is on another planet, as far as I'm concerned. And I wouldn't mind but it's not a case like Riyad's where he's greedy as fuck and lacks effort.

I agree with his position because I think he's at his best on the right but that's about it. I've just seen your post on another thread where you compare his stats from this season against Kev. It feels like you've taken it out of context a bit when you leave out how many minutes each has played.

I don't know what Pep is asking of him but it isn't playing to Bernardos strengths. Just seems to be in the middle and no where near the attack.

People need to stop expecting the 18/19 Bernardo. He was playing in a front 3 then he had a different role. he’s now playing in the 8 role and his job on the pitch changes, he’s asked to do more unnoticed things, a lot more positional covering that gets ignored he’s asked to control it more and be less direct than he would be on the wing. The problem is all of our players playing in that role are currently struggling because of the tactics, Kdb is struggling, Bernardo, Gundogan and Foden when he plays there, that’s not 3/4 players badly out of form that’s a tactical issue

I think there are serious questions that need asking of him now. He literally isn't doing anything when he plays. Zero incisive passes, no shots. He isn't running at defenders anymore, he's just literally a passenger.

I could accept the Mendy issue caused a problem. But thats long gone now. He just isn't at the level.

He has played less mins for a reason! The stats are chalk and cheese anyway regardless of the minutes. He has basically added nothing in all of the minutes he has played this season other than a bit of hard work that I expect every player to do. Zero creativity.

If he has the talent you say he has then he needs to pull his finger out and start delivering because at the moment he isn’t.

Surely the answer is to play where he has actually added value. On the right of a front three. He had a good understanding with Walker. It’s not like anyone else is setting the world alight over there currently. If he is going to play then put him there, put Foden in the middle and fuck Mahrez off completely.
