Really wasn't as bad as being made out, a bog standard performance not a bad one, just with two dreadful misses to make it seem even worse. Suggestions he's shit but for one position are laughable, I bet those people are gutted we didn't get the £40 million last summer

He played the exact same position in the debt and was outstanding. Some just look at football through playstation goggles.

The thing is, he's not a in the box finisher, he's much better taking a shot on the edge of the box and curling one in.

This perfectly suits a box to box player who usually get these chances further out but in our team the 8s push so high that we need them capable of scoring these tap ins.

Funny enough, this is one of Sterlings strengths.

Wasn't his best game, I was getting annoyed with him not keeping the ball on the floor(half juggling with it making his progress slower at times) and felt that he should have put at least one of those chances away but some are going way over the top here.

I'd have subbed him for Gundogan at 70 mins because he seems to have that knack of being in the right place and choosing the right finish without any fuss. That said, I don't know if any subs would have made a difference last night. It wasn't that we weren't making the chances or a lack of effort from anyone. Sterling can just as easily miss sitters as anyone else, when a game is going like it was. It was just one of those games where it just wont go in.

I would have too, but on review I think Pep was concerned about Palace on the counter and felt we were still creating enough chances to score. Gundogan is easier to bypass than Bernie.

I think we lost a little patience in the end and were trying to force it. When we played little triangles and took our time the little ball slid in behind was quite easy. We just rushed things and had an off day with the final ball, touch or finish. Mahrez should have buried his chance when he lashed it and Guaita saved it. Bernie should have scored that spill.

Gundogan, Sterling and Jesus could have come on for Bernie, Grealish and Foden and we may have won or we may have forced things and lost the game. We've got the extra point in the bag and we move on.
