All I can think about when he is in this kind of form, is how much of a big miss he will be if he goes in the summer. When teams are having a good spell and the game is looking like it might turn, he gets stuck in and tells them it's not happening. He's too good for Barca, with the joke offers they gave for him, they can't rate him like we do.

Simply the most dedicated hard working player we’ve ever had. Maybe that I’ve ever seen in football.

Can anyone show me any stats of any player who cover or ever has covered more ground than Bernardo? I’d be surprised if there were any.

I absolutely love him!

We’ve lost a number of leaders over the last half a dozen years: Zaba Yaya Kompany DSilva Agüero Fernandinho. With most of them (bar Kompany) it hasn’t really made any difference to us that any of them have left. We won the league in each of the seasons after Zaba Yaya DSilva and Agüero left (we don’t know about this season after Fernandinho yet).

I can guarantee, however, that we will be a much much worse side when Bernardo leaves this club! What he brings is an individual work ethic coupled with quality on the ball that is unique to him and it’s worth two players’ contribution to our team every week.

I don’t care if he fancies living somewhere else, pay him the money he deserves and keep him until he retires.

I’m glad Barcelona didn’t stump up £80m for him in the Summer, but it’s also a complete fucking insult to him that they aren’t offering £120m or more for him. Bernardo is twice the player Coutinho is and Barça think he’s only worth half of what they bought him for?! (that £145m deal - for just an okay player who was really worth about £40m - with Liverpool was so dodgy, it was simply two clubs cooking the books, one the recipient who could build a team from it and the other who transferred the asset as a debt to a debt company and didn’t even pay the full amount out for years!)

And while he might be happy on £150k/week here and he might not be money hungry, there are players on more who aren’t as good, one who’s on twice as much as him at City who doesn’t even do half as much for the team. Pay him what he deserves!

Not enough is written about how good the first touches of both Bernardo and Jack are. They controlled switch hit balls with ease. Add that to the incredible work rate and you have one of the reasons we are so good. Love the little guy.
