A lot of disrespect in this thread. Bernardo has been unreal for us and never once has he not tried when he’s pulled that shirt on. Is he knackered yeah probably but he has run further than any player I’ve seen in the last few years, played multiple positions the lot. IMHO he’s one of the most underrated players we’ve had.

No other player plays with the intelligence he has. No one slots in at right back without being told. His performance in the champions league semi against Madrid was utterly outstanding, City’s greatest ever performance.

The disrespect shown on here is so unfair. He’s not made of glass and hasn’t been missing for any significant period and actually earned his wages. What a fantastic professional he has been for City. Maybe he’d have been appreciated more if he’d have gone on a summer-long bender after winning the treble?

He’s not had a great season but no player has. I’m convinced he’ll be back next year.

He has been one of our modern greats and will always be welcomed at city but we can’t keep him next season as his times up and now he should get the move away preferably back to benfica . We cannot keep these players because of sentiment of what they have done for us because end of the day no one is bigger than Manchester City .

He's been under par for a while now but I think he needs a decent rest.

He's not old and isn't really injury prone, so I don't think he's finished.

I reckon given a proper summer off, he would come back rejuvenated. Sadly that's not happening this summer. I think the full team could do without this club world cup really and have a reset

There's certainly been a drop off in physical ability for Bernardo this season. He's trying but the body isn't up to it

I actually don't see much sign that he's running a lot less than he ever did. Just seen him called “geriatric” in the Bournemouth thread. FFS! The guy's thirty!! It's not like a Kev slowdown, which is clear and visible. I just think he's running to less effect, and being very unadventurous with his passing choices. That's undeniable. It actually wouldn't surprise me hugely if he's having a bad season, but still has quite a lot to give for a season or two.
He is not at all one of those I expect to leave. And if he does, he'll go somewhere big.

I honestly don’t see why Bernardo wouldn't have another four or five seasons at elite level if he's managed properly, and not overplayed.

A genuinely brilliant player for City. I really hope he gets his dream move to a warm climate in the summer window. I would expect at least five or six top clubs to be after him, unless City expect stupid money.

Unless hes going to take a huge pay cut, I dont see where hes going to go. Hes gone backwards two seasons in a row now. The entire world thinks its because City have ran the lad ragged yet we expect someone to think hes still something left in the tank, hand us tens of millions and him the same.

I suspect that there's plenty left in the tank under a differentcoach and better weather.

If City want tens of millions for him, they're as good as punishing him for wanting to leave.

I know they've been well (ridiculously over) paid at City, just like KDB, he deserves a free for his service.

No point staying at City if you're so unhappy, you keep on undermining the manager in every post!

I hope he gets the rest he needs. A brilliant player who is properly burnt out yet never complains or gets injured.

Also hope he is part of the rebuild. Need good characters like him in the squad.
