I said it last season and will say it again for this season, don’t really think he needs a thread. There’s really not much more to say. The guy is just the perfect footballer.

He has the most unique skill set of any player ever in the PL. As you say, he can be as tough as fuck box to box midfielder with the tenacity of any of the best centre mids. Then in the same game switch to the wing and play like Messi.
 
Absolutely amazed that with the fee’s that players go for nowadays no one has seriously come in for him when he’s linked with a move away.

I saw on Twitter some guy who really fancies himself as an analyst say Oscar Bobb had made Bernardo redundant. He’s one of those you cannot reply to, which is a shame as I would have given him a broadside.

Bernie is a wonderful player but remains under appreciated in some quarters. He is a superb player to have in a squad like ours, where the coach likes to keep the numbers relatively low, because he can play multiple roles.

Love the fact that he is obviously a nice guy but has a real edge to him competitively. His assault on stupid hairdo yesterday was most amusing.
 
I really think he "gets" us, in the same way that the likes Kun, Merlin, Zabba and Vinnie did. Lads that have no connection with the area, yet they come to form a real bond with the club and the fans. And I love the fact that he hasn't acted like a c**t to try to force a move away from the club.




Just keep him away from penalties!

It's silly that they said that anyway, he can play in a few positions and he's quality, no player like that can ever be redundant. The truth is if we were playing in a major final tomorrow with a fully fit squad, Bernado starts over Bobb. More often than not, Bernado is a big game player in a way that can't be taught. He's still a big player for us.

I do think last season he wasn't quite up to his usual standards overall. But I'm expecting a really good season from him this time.

Keep him away from pens!

Tenacious and tactically brilliant. Throw in his attitude to winding players up and taking no shit and he is a wonder.

Bad games like every player but he offers so much more than ranking him on goals and assists.

I hope he settles down now after no club offer and realises how much we appreciate him here. Plenty of years ahead to go to a sunnier land.

Should be captain. New deal to finish his career before Portugal would be up there with pep staying.

He is the closest thing we have ever had at City to Messi…including his penalty taking!!

It’s no wonder Pep loves him and knows he can do a job ANYWHERE on the pitch!

He is City, through and through!

Bernie is not captain material.

And we have plenty members of the squad that are more than capable of taking on the rôle.
 
I don't think he deserved MOTM, but considering he looked dead on his feet in the last 15 of the first half, That was a hell of an effort.
