Silva has obvious form issues, but lack of effort is not an issue. His rank lack of creativity and output is odd but this guy, this guy, he's probably been one of City's most popular players of other fans for quite a long time.

Too many killing him here, back him give him time.

I agree with others, I think he needs dropping for a little bit and just letting him be. I hope he stays, but I know the occasional rumour has followed him around the last year.

They're just getting older. The problem is players age differently, look at Fern, when he was 36 he still looked decent but on the other hand Bernie looks ready for the scrapheap and he's only 31.
Fern had younger players around him functioning well as a team. In the current side a 36 year old Fern would be struggling just as much a Bernado and Gundo. I do agree that players do drop off at different ages though. I did think Bernie would be one that went on well into his 30's though.

He probably will if he can get a complete break of 2 or 3 months to recharge his Duracells. Not sure how or if that will happen though. Clearly he is mentally and physically drained after playing a zillion games per season with hardly any time off.

Bernardo will have a good final season next year, if we can get younger legs around him, and then bow out. Otamendi looked to be finished when he left us in 2020 but has enjoyed 5 good seasons at Benfica and turns 37 in a few weeks. Bernardo should be able to enjoy a few seasons back home if he desires.

This is a better way to use him, almost like a false CB with fullbacks wide.

He doubles down in his ain ability, ball control, let's him slow the game, and he isn't required to get goals or assists in this spot.

Only 70 minutes in, but he’s been brilliant so far. This should be his position going forward. Shouldn’t be anywhere in attack, let him control the tempo at the back. And if he’s got energy, let him press infront. Not the other way around.

Still very limited on the ball, but that was like the old Bernardo when it comes to work rate, not jogging around aimlessly like we've seen so much this season.
