People were clammering for him to be in the line up in the pre match thread. Rubbish again.

Some just won’t have a bad word said against him.

He’s gone from the guy that always stepped up in the big games, to a ghost. A legend of this club but he needs to be replaced in the summer.

Ive been critical of him. But Pep isnt helping him by playing him on the wings or in an attacking role.

He is a double pivot support midfielder yhrse days. Nothing else. He is too slow on the wings, carry no goal threat and is slow to release the ball.

Works hard and can keep possession against forwards. That's it. Play to his strengths or dont play gim at all.

Exactly. Some on here have shot me down for saying he has barely had a big impact on games since the treble season.

Whether its physical or mental, I don't know, but it's not the same player.

People keep ignoring the facts because he runs a lot. So does Mo Farah but you wouldn't want him in the midfield. That's all Bernado has really offered now for 18 months.

He's been brilliant for us and I love his attitude but he's gone from a guy that used to be MOTM contender in most games to barely making a splash in a game. He did have a decent goal return last season, but he doesn't seem to be part of running games like he did a couple of years.

If he is still physically capable, then he looks like he needs either a good rest or a new challenge.

He's only 30 and not injury prone, so he should still have plenty of good football left in him. I hope we see it again and I hope it's in a city shirt for a few years.

The PSG game really highlighted how far he's fallen. They had about four players who played like he used to. Meanwhile Bernardo has looked like the fucking Wealdstone Raider all season.

He's 30, fallen off and he's wanted out for years. Just stop playing him.

If he played against Newcastle we wouldn't have scored 4 goals if he received the ball in midfield he would have killed the attack! Best thing we could do if we are keeping him is play him sparingly this season and let him come back stronger next season.
Let’s look at Klopps Liverpool. He burnt his team out every other season. They would play great high energy pressing for a season. It would then drop off for a season.
Bernie was one of those high press players for us but there is clearly nothing left in the tank.
I am sure Pep knows this after the efforts of 4 on the bounce.
Next season will be an important one. Kind of cross roads to determine where we are at.

This season it sometimes feels like the club is a diamond mind producing coal.

Pep showed these players real loyalty this season. To be expected after what they have given him and the club in recent years. However, he must now see that it was a mistake. He needs to be ruthless in the summer. It might upset a few players and certainly some on here but sentiment has to go out the window.
