Under no circumstances should bernardo be here next season. That goes for stones, gundo, kdb, kovacic aswell. People need to wise up and stop dreaming that these players are as good as they were 5yrs ago.
For me, Bernardo is the standout from that list who could be rejuvenated after a proper rest.

He’s only 30, never been injury prone and plays more games than you could shake a stick at.

Whether he could get that rest is highly unlikely and it might need a change of club to reset.

He’s been hoping to leave for the last 3yrs by all accounts hasn’t he.

He's completely burnt out. Pep used him as the answer to everything. Bernie's rejuvenation would only come if : A) He moves to a new league and has a new challenge, or B) if a new manager comes in with new expectations from him.

if he stays here he would just give us the same performance, right now these type of performance has been subconsciously ingrained into his mind as he believes this is what Pep wants.

Best to just let him go at this point.

I think not every player can stay at the top level until they are 35/36, and because we've had a couple of examples of that recently like ferna i think its warped perceptions a little bit. Bernardo has been ran into the ground over 7 years of uber-intense competition, he could well be finished at the top level at 30. I would keep him next year and move on Gundo, kova and Kev and hopefully add some younger midfielders around him and see if that makes a difference but it might not.

Broadly speaking I agree, but I can't see us getting rid of KDB, Kova, Gundo and Bernardo in one window.

I think at least one of Bernardo and Kova will stay till 2026.

Been a great servant but it's over , finito ,thanks for the memorise but now stop blocking the pathway for the likes of Echeverri , et al . Wouldn't even start him against Plymouth . Sorry but needs to hold his hands up and get a move to a less competitive league . Sentiment wins Jack All !

We are not going to move on all declining stars in one window but I wouldn't be suprised if we do move him on in the summer.

Both of them will stay. Pep won't let bernardo leave so if he wants to go he will need to run his contract down and im not sure who would even buy kova so he will most likely see out his contract. I think one of kdb or gundo will leave most likely kdb as he is the second-highest earner in the squad and his contract runs out this summer. Gundo most likely will stay, as he automatically gets another year if he hits a certain amount of appearances.

I dont think he's finished, just suffering the same burn out/malaise as the rest of the regular players. Not helped by being run in to the ground again this year.

I wouldnt begrudge him a summer move if something comes up that he wants, but I'm equally happy if he stays.

That's how I feel about it.

I know everyone peaks or slides at different ages but he's only turned 30 this past August. Surely he's got more good football in him?

Like I said earlier, he either needs a good rest or fresh start. I don't think he's finished at 30, especially when he's not that injury prone either.

It's a shame that club would cup is happening because I think he could regain something with a proper summer off.

I'm very interested to see how this current generation of class players ages.
Bernardo is only 30, but looks a shell of himself physically out there this year.

He is within the first crop of players that has been playing non stop for the better part of a decade now since he broke onto the scene with Monaco in 2015.

45+ club games a season, and then another 10+ international games on top of that.
Hardly no time off for the better part of a decade.

His body is broken down.
Great servant to the club.
It is rare these guys ever get to go out on thier own terms.

Out of him ,Gundo and KVB I think he is the one who can still contribute next year, he's the only one who can still run for a start!
