This will be overlooked by the Bernardo is finished brigade.

Bernardo is a proper captain (better in that role than David and KDB) and has a lot to offer this season. He doesn't have a guaranteed starting place because we have excellent options, but he is a very valuable part of the squad.

Even today he wouldn't have been bitched off by Guessand like Foden did. Criminal Bernardo came off when he did instead of Foden or Reijnders.
 
Savinho and Bernardo's defense in front of goal was ridiculous. The former didn't close down the angle of the cross and then didn't try to close down in front of the shot, while the latter was eliminated like a novice.
 
His snails pace is becoming a hindrance in the ability to attack these days. At one point in the first half he was outside their box, basically one on one with a defender. He knew he had no chance of taking him on
 
He’s finished. Another players who’s only good at coming on for the last 15/20 min to hold onto a lead. Only games he should be starting are FA Cup and Carabao cup games

He knew he had no chance of taking him on, so instead he just chipped it somewhere in Haaland's direction even though he was surrounded.

I'm sure it probably bothers him to know he simply has limited options on the ball because he can't beat a man now but it's slowing us down

Love the guy but he needs to be playing at another club next season

Absolutely I've said many times for months that we've had 2 years of Bernardo simply not being good enough yet Guardiola seems to find any excuse to shoehorn him into the team. To make him captain compounds the mistake. Squad player at best now and should be playing at Swansea tomorrow and the same applies to Bobb and Savinho. None of those 3 should be anywhere near a starting 11 away at Villa !

Agreed,we are being too loyal to Bernie like kdb because THEY WERE fantastic players .

He popped up on the wing occasionally to occupy the left back.

Villa game could've been very different if he dropped to be next to Reijnders more, but he spent a lot of time up near Haaland strangely.
 
Once again so much better when he's not hugging the touchline, lost any pace he ever had but his work rate, calmness and occasional "nastiness" is very useful in midfield.
