20 | Bernardo Silva - 2025/26

Think the statue thing is done until erling gets his, but our bernardo has given us some incredible years
Oh I don't know.

Think there may be space for this one - even if it's just wheeled out once a year and placed outside the away end for when Liverpool visit.

In the last 10 minutes yesterday he brought some calmness to the chaos. Sometimes our younger players have a tendency to get a bit carried away still attacking and looking for goals at 3-0 up when we don’t need to do anything other than keep possession. Bernardo understood what was needed there and slowed it all down.

In an article on the BBC today (There have been plenty of positive ones) - it was highlighted that the top 6 players in games for KM covered this season included 4 City players.

Bernado x 2 and Foden x 2

We have also covered the most KM as a team with Arsenal in second place.

Hard work is paying off and that must be very pleasing for Pep to see.

Bernardo does he hard yards without even noticing cos we're used to it but I have noticed the amount of recovery runs Foden makes to help out defensively. He's really stepped up this season in the middle role

Doku sometimes gets criticism for not getting back from the crowd at the game but I think that is on Pep’s orders. He is the most dangerous outlet so I can see why others like Foden need to drop back and he stays higher up the pitch.

Yet another masterclass against the dippers. He fucking hates them and that's why he's a legend.
He is a legend.

He's given so much to City since he arrived in 2017. As great players have come and gone, he remains a mainstay in our great club. He is one of the three remaining members of the great Centurion 17/18 squad (Phil and Stonesy being the others). His contributions since that season have been immense.

If you listen to him being interviewed, Bernie is far smarter than the average footballer. In my opinion he was actually the perfect choice for the captaincy, both for his depth of experience and leadership skills on and off the pitch.

One thing I noticed during the Liverpool game, when we were awarded the penalty he raced over to protect the penalty spot. In fact he got into a shoving match because the Liverpool player wanted to scuff up the penalty spot. The ever alert Bernie was wise to this and intervened.

It was just a small action, but it typifies Bernie as a player. One who has given his all to the club.

So Bernie is indeed a legend, and his intense hatred of the dippers is just the icing on the cake!
