20 | Bernardo Silva - 2025/26

Very lucky not to get a second yellow for diving . Does not contribute offensively at all .The only reason he plays is because Tejani is even worse
I said he's become one of the worst attacking players in history in the last 18 months and some guys are giving me shit for it lol, I mean can you actually tell me if he comes up with anything these days ? you might say I'm exaggerating and there are plenty of worse attackers in the world, but how many of them play for a top club like City ? I have huge respect for what he's done for City but if you need a goal he's the last player you want on the ball these days.

Not too sure what he offers. He’s not the player he was, obviously and to be expected, but he’s unrecognisable from what he was even 2 years ago.

Treats the ball like a ticking time bomb some of the time then other times like a newborn baby. The pass to Nunes for the first goal should be what he tries to do all the time but he doesn’t. In fact he turned the same pass down 3 or 4 times in the first half alone.

It’s like he’s being what he thinks Pep wants him to be. Or even worse, he’s being exactly what Pep wants him to be. An uncoordinated controller who doesn’t make the team tick.

Just running around . During Portugal’s 9-1 win he was the only player with a below 8.0 performance. Says it all. No threat on the offensive or defensive side.

Bernie has been a troll on the pitch for about two years, when the real leaders KDB Walker and Rodri faded.
he lead with his grumpy face toward almost everyone in stead of with his game play.
And I’m afraid that he tried to injure the opponent players a few times with unnecessary actions, like shovelling underneath when they jump high. Thats a really bad habit.

Absolutely shocking. He’s been done for 2 years. One of the best we’ve ever had, but was always going to burn out young because of his work rate in his prime. The choice to make him captain is absolute madness. Needs to be moved on ASAP.

I posted this in another thread, but worth posting here too.....

I love Bernardo, but I thought he was very fortunate not to get a red card today, first half he was fouling the keeper every time we had a corner, in fact I thought he did on the Gvardiol goal, and he was at the referee (who was shite) at almost every decision, he did a lot of good things, but sometimes he can act like the village idiot, and in games like this it's no captain stuff it's just idiot stuff.

Agree he's been shocking for 2 years.

He's not been "shocking" for 2 years, he's had the odd bad game, and some very good ones, he's not as consistent as he was, I will agree.

I don't know what some folk actually watch, because he always runs his heart out for the team, whether he's good or bad, perhaps some should check out what Pep said this very week.

My only frustration with him is that he still runs a lot. At this stage of his career, he needs to pick his moment, relax and conserve energy for more important stuff like controlling the ball, dictate the tempo, etc. When he spends a lot of energy running around, chasing opposing team's players, it effects other facets of his game. Granted, he's been trained that way ever since he joined City and old habit is hard to break. But the current setup of the team and his age just don't suit him playing that way any more. I wonder Pep has ever told him to slow down a bit, conserve energy to do other more important stuff which will serve both him and the team well.

I actually thought he was the second best player today after Foden. Old fox still works the hardest out there and knows how to control tempo. City fans have really been spoiled with this man.

The issue with that is, the tempo he’s setting is too slow and predictable and that’s to the detriment of the side and how we attack.

Whether that’s on him or Pep, it’s not a positive.

It would be in certain games but not Leeds at home.

I noticed that he pestered the goalie on every corner too, without even pretending to look at the ball. It is impossible to not notice. He did that so whole heartedly that it is embarrassing to recall that he is also our captain.
