20 | Bernardo Silva - 2025/26

Another match, another zero contribution both defensively and offensively. Honestly, any other player on our squad plays at this level, and people would be moaning everywhere.

It's funny to see how Cherki avoids passing him because, there is zero point on Bernardo having the ball in the final 3rd.

But he makes us tick apparently...Ibget what he does, and he is smart and plays his heart out, but I would like anyone to tell me a dignificsnt offensive or defensive thing he does. He only supports.

I've said he's one of the worst attacking players in the world currently playing for a big team and got stick for it, but honestly do you expect anything when he has the ball except passing backwards ?

You're right, he only supports. But he supports everyone and is clever enough to fill in all the gaps that appear when everyone else is moving round and leaving spaces. We'll miss him when he's gone.

He was abysmal today. With Foden, Cherki and Reijnders on the pitch, I wish Bernie would just sit alongside Gonzales. This headless chicken approach is fucking painful to watch and doesn’t do him or the side any favours at all. He needs to stop moving into the inside right channel. I know that’s what has been the norm of our midfielders over the years, but this current Bernie just gets in the fucking way.

He's not an attacking player, so don't think of him that way.

He isn't a defensive player either, because he offers zero tackling, physiciality, protection against counterattacks, recoveries, forward pressing, aerial protection, blocking shots...so what does he do? Oh yeah, supports...but only that.

Basically he's in major decline but we have quite a young team now, and I do think his nous and experience has been of value this season.

I think it still suits all parties for him to go in the summer, but He's improved upon last year I think.

Foden and Haaland getting pelters but he was just as bad, as usual rubbish both offensively and defensively, it's time for Nico and Rodri in midfield, and Bernie should warm the bench for most of the rest of the season.

Amazes me that after 7 or 8 years watching him at City some blues still can’t see what he brings to the team even though he’s in decline.

In the absence of Rodri he’s our most important player after big Erl. Don’t take my word for it, listen to Pep

Love the guy but you can count on your fingers the number of games where he's contributed anything to the attacking play in the past two years.

Rodri is back, and he gave a clinic of how much better he is than Bernardo. There is literally not one single thing Bernardo does better, and no reason why he should be in the starting 11 now that Rodri is back.

The lack of criticism to Bernardo baffles me. He can be a 0/10 both offensively and defensively and no one bats an eye.

I love him, but he's not bringing what he used to anymore. At all. I thought this was one of his better games, which says a lot, but he looks scared to death of getting on the ball these days.

Eh no mate it's you that can't see that he can't do what he used to do.

Love him, what a player in his, not right for these types of games though anymore. Too slow and weak on the ball.
